First let me say thank you to Larry Darneille for reaching out this evening. He built this amazing boat and shed some light on why you are seeing the pictures that you are seeing. Thank you sir, for being who you are. You are one of a kind.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about having this boat in the water today for the first time. It won’t be the last time. However, today after a few minutes of playing, I learned I had a wire ground out and killed the battery. My fault completely.

I had to get towed in. Rick came in too hot to get me and we swamped the boat somewhat. I also had too much weight on the boat with myself, battery, full tank of fuel, and extras. Again, my fault. What I didn’t know until now is that when you tow a hydroplane boat it takes on water. Lesson learned.

Rick towed me to the dock, I got out of the boat, the water shifted to the back of and she started sinking and fast. We got it pulled around to the other side of the dock, Rebekah swam in and helped navigate it, Rick, Tim, Terry, Perry, Jerry, Wendy and myself manipulated it back on the trailer with just a few little issues. We all had a good laugh, got everyone else’s boats back on the trailers and counted today as a big success and lots of learning opportunities!

Very excited to spend some time talking with Larry Darneille next week and get this old gal back on the water soon.

Some call it many things, I call it a great day ! 😊😊😊

Didn’t get to play long, but it was fun to learn on this hydroplane. Lots to do now that we have a better idea of what’s going on.

Customer brought this 2013 Mercury 8 hp 4 stroke by today. The lower unit is pretty much destroyed by salt water but the motor runs smooth. We will look for a lower unit and go from there. Thank f we can locate one for a decent price then we will get it ready and put it up for sale. Time will tell.

Back on this 1995 OMC 130 hp. After replacing the power pack, we have great spark on all 4 cylinders.

Took it outside, started it and it ran and peed, then it started getting warmer, s**t it down, checked everything. All new thermostats, new impeller, all the lines have been cleaned. Fired it back up and it’s barely pumping water. This thing has been a challenge. 1 thing after another. We will be back on it Monday.
