Moving Tip Tuesday!! Sort Through Your Stuff!!

When it comes to moving, the less you have to pack, the quicker the process. Using a room-to-room approach, sort through all your belongings and separate them into three piles: things to keep, things to sell, and things to throw away. Plan a garage sale for all your “sell” items, and donate anything that remains to your local Goodwill. Besides making the packing process quicker, a lighter load makes a smaller dent in your moving budget 😉

Rescue missions, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, churches, libraries, consignment shops and I'm sure many other organizations will happily accept used, clean items. If you know of any other places, please comment below!

Gosh, we all dread it, but I've listed a lot of items for free on Facebook Marketplace and tell you what, people love free stuff!

Repeat and referral customers are the best! Huge thank you to Tony in Camillus! He called us up in a panic, scoring a great deal on this original owner 1970 Super Bee! Catch is, it needed to be picked up as soon as possible 4 hours away! Thankfully, we transported a 1969 AMX for his neighbor a few months ago (forgot the picture, doh!) and he knew just who to call! Made for a long day, but it was in his driveway the next night!

Thank you again and looking forward to seeing this machine at the Solvay cruise-in soon!

Moving Tip Tuesday!!

So it's time to move, but feeling overwhelmed by the amount of "stuff" aka junk, you've collected over the last 30 years or so? Fear not, we have the solution! We'll drop one of our massive dump trailers off at your home for a while and give you plenty of time to purge anything you may no longer need. Load it up and we'll haul it away for proper disposal!

In Japan, it's called Danshari -

Dan (断): To refuse or turn down unneeded items from entering your life.
Sha (捨): To dispose of or throw away things that you do not use.
Ri (離): To separate or detach yourself from the desire and attachment to material possessions.

Moving is always stressful, let us help lessen that burden!

Moving Tip Tuesday!!!

Did you Google "moving services" 1 time and now getting ads all over the Internet and social media? Be careful where you click! We recently had a customer book with one of these "organizations". They happily took a massive deposit and p**f, gone, ghosted and never heard from them again!

See below for an example of the common look and feel of this scam.

When searching, make sure you're talking to a real person, real organization, really here to help!

If you're local, we're happy to visit your home or do a remote video call to go through your move.

Call, message on Facebook or text anytime!!

Moving Tip Tuesday!!!

As a follow-up on the previous discussion with tires on older trailers, we'd like to share what we believe is tremendously helpful to use while traveling over the road. We use these wireless TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) sensors whenever we hitch up to our trailers or yours. If you have a camper or tow (even on the rare occasion) we highly recommend picking up a set! We've had flat tires less than a mile from home base and we've had them 1,500 miles away. Early in the morning and late at night. On rural county roads and busy highways. Facts are flats happen. At least with these, you'll know if you have a tire going down so you can safely exit the highway. Or if a blowout, you'll be alerted quickly as sometimes at night it may be tough to see or realize.

Got buckets?

These excavator buckets were huge! For reference, this dump trailer is 6'x12' and 2 buckets filled it! Picked up from the equipment shop and delivered to the job site.

What other random things will we move next??

Moving Tip Tuesday!!

Looking at purchasing a used but new to you camper, RV or 5th wheel? Make sure to check the date codes on the tires!

We've recently helped a customer move an older but immaculate condition camper and of course we had a blow out down the road! After we quickly changed the tire (thankfully a spare was on hand), we checked the date codes.. the tires were in great shape but 15 years old! Much like humans, rubber breaks down over the years. 😢

Tire manufacturers recommend replacing your camper tires once they are of a certain age. Check your owners manual or documentation but most will say 6-10 years are the longest you want to roll on their tires!

Especially important on RVs that sit at the same campground for years. Tread might be great, sidewalls not weather beaten and cracked from the sun but due to age, they are unsafe on the roads.

Oh, almost forgot how to read them! There is a 4 digit numerical code on the sidewall, it's in wwyy format. Such as 4511 means the 45th week of 2011. Or, 1220 would be 12th week of 2020. If you don't see it on the outside sidewall, take a peak behind, on the inside sidewall. Some manufacturers may only stamp on one side.

Happy camping!

When the request came in asking if we'd move a box from one side of Syracuse to the other, the reply was "Absolutely, happy to help".

No job is too small! Always reach out, if we can help, we will!

It may sound simple to most folks, it's just a box, but some people don't have the ability, for whatever reason and that's okay, that's why we're here!

And it's our favorite color, black and yellow, Go Steelers! 😉
