Wolves Trail Woodyard

Wolves Trail Woodyard Firewood delivery to the north Georgia area.

04/12/2026

Just an FYI, I deliver to the following counties: Gilmer, Pickens, Fannin, and Union.

I occasionally get requests to deliver farther away, but with fuel prices, I just can't go farther than I already do.

And as always, I appreciate my customers more than you can possibly know!

Time to split more wood for the next couple of months. It's a never ending process. As soon as it finishes drying, it will be perfect for firepits and S'mores!

With a good bed of coals, even wood that is literally soaking wet will burn. Let me explain. I had some very "p***y" wood in my woodpile that had gotten wet from a recent rain. The p***y part was dripping with water, so I did a little experiment. I split the pieces into big chunks and brought it inside. I built a fire with dry wood and got a bed of coals established. Then I put the wet pieces on the fire. Well, you can see the result. 😁

Some of the best kindling a person can use to start a fire is dried bark. It burns so easily and produces a nice amount of coals to start the rest of your firewood. You can use a bit of cardboard, not paper, to get the bark burning. Cardboard typically does not produce embers that travel up the chimney the same way that paper does. Plus, bark smells nice!

If you need firewood or bark, please contact me at 706-273-6578.

Would this be considered a firewood "Jenga" tower? 😁

The leftover bark that comes off firewood during splitting makes excellent kindling. Bark is normally a waste product to most firewood producers. It tends to be burned when they are cleaning up the woodlot. I collect the larger pieces for customer use and use in my own fireplace.

Sometimes splitting firewood makes interesting pieces. With a little time and patience, I should be able to turn this into a rustic coat hanger.
