We’re currently in the middle of the 72-hour CVSA International across North America - one of the industry’s largest inspection and enforcement initiatives.
Looking back at the 2025 results, more than 56,000 inspections were conducted, with over 10,000 vehicles placed out of service. The vehicle out-of-service rate reached 18.1%, while driver out-of-service violations accounted for 5.9%.
Brake-related violations remained the biggest issue, representing over 41% of all vehicle out-of-service violations when combined with defective brake violations. Tires followed closely behind, accounting for more than 21% of vehicle OOS findings. On the driver side, hours-of-service violations remained the leading cause of driver out-of-service orders.
What Roadcheck continues to show year after year is that most violations are rarely isolated issues. More often, they reflect everyday maintenance practices, compliance routines, and operational discipline long before inspection week begins.
⚠️ Safety is built in the day-to-day, not during a 72-hour inspection window.
