Buses vs. trains is the wrong debate. Both are still important to building a strong transportation system.

Buses are the workhorse of public transportation, while trains can be especially effective for major, high-demand routes like connecting an airport to downtown. But if the goal is to serve an entire county, a robust bus network is essential. The best transportation systems in the world use both because buses and trains serve different purposes, support one another, and work better together.

It’s less about choosing which one is better and more about using each where it makes the most sense.

ICYMI: HART recently hosted Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Acting Deputy Administrator Matthew Cahill and FTA Region IV leaders for a firsthand look at our aging Heavy Maintenance facility.

The visit highlighted the need for a modern, purpose-built facility to better support our fleet, employees, and reliable service.

We appreciate FTA’s continued partnership as HART plans for the future!

HART is seeking applicants for one open position on our ADA Accessibility Committee, which provides guidance on issues affecting people with disabilities and helps support accessibility throughout our transit system.

Applicants must live or work in Hillsborough County. The volunteer position is for a three-year term, and the committee meets quarterly.
