When George was young he would go to the hay lots with his dad just to see the hay trucks. The Southern California Cabover Truck and Trailer hay trucks were his favorite. George's start in trucking was hauling hay.

Often on Saturday's He and Ryan would search the internet for anything cool. In August of 2020 he asked Ryan if he new of any cool hay trucks for sale. He did, a former Fox Feed, 1986 COE Pete truck and trailer from Lancaster Ca was available. Ryan made the phone call and a few weeks later he went down to pick it up.

The restoration began, new interior, new trailer bed and of course green paint. The cabover truck and trailer will always remain George's favorite set up. Brian (George's youngest son) still hauls hay time to time, just like George did back in the day.

This past week I attended the OTA Leadership Convention in Bend, I wish everyone had the chance to go and hear what actually goes on in the trucking industry in regard to rules, regulations and taxes. The biggest take away is we need new leadership in Salem. I was able to attend the PAC dinner Tuesday evening and listen to Christine Drazen speak. She brought truth, understanding and hope. Oregon remains the most expensive state to operate a truck based on taxes. We cannot keep going down the same path. We love Oregon, we love the timber industry, and we are hoping for change.

Wednesday afternoon we were presented the Image Award by the OTA and Image committee. We are grateful.

"The Image award honors companies or individuals whose actions and community efforts create a positive public impression and enhance the overall reputation of the trucking industry." - Oregon Trucking Association.
