A hotel lobby can feel completely different without changing its address.

Sometimes it just needs a refresh.

New seating. New tables. New pieces that change the way the space feels when guests walk through the door.

But before the first piece finds its new place, there’s a truck to unload.

That’s where our team comes in.

Our drivers handling the behind the scenes part and getting each piece where it needs to go.

Because transforming a space takes more than a great design. It takes getting every piece there.

That’s our part of the story.

To most people, it’s just a truck.

To us?

That truck might be carrying an entire showroom.

Sectionals. Dining tables. Chairs. Case goods. Pieces that took months to design, build and sell.

And now they’re all stacked inside one trailer, headed down the highway.

There’s a lot more to furniture transportation than putting stuff on a truck.

There’s planning, loading, securing, routing and a whole lot of knowing what you’re doing.

That’s the part we’re pretty good at.

Some furniture gets around.

A showroom piece might start its journey in North Carolina, make a stop in Virginia, head to a warehouse in Tennessee, and eventually end up in a showroom a few states away before it gets to Joe and Joan Smith's home right before their anniversary party.

At Murrow’s, we’ve learned that furniture doesn’t really care about state lines.

It just needs the right truck, the right handling and a team that knows how to get it there.

Things You Don't See: The Load

The truck looks full.

But there's a lot more to loading furniture than filling every available inch.

Every piece has a place.

What goes in first matters.
What goes on top matters.
How it's secured matters.

Because the goal isn't simply to fit more furniture on the truck.

It's to make sure everything arrives the way it left.

Furniture transportation isn't glamorous.

Nobody takes a picture of the truck when everything goes exactly right.

The furniture arrives on time.
It arrives in good shape.
It gets where it needs to go.

And everyone moves on.

Honestly, that's kind of the point.

When transportation works the way it should, nobody has to think about it.

**And that's a pretty good day at Murrow's.**

The showroom sees the finished product.

We see the journey.

Before that sofa, sectional or dining table ever reaches the showroom floor, there’s a lot that has to happen behind the scenes.

It has to leave the manufacturer.
It has to be loaded carefully.
It has to get where it’s going.
And it has to arrive ready for its next chapter on the showroom floor.

That journey is what we do.

Because getting furniture there is only part of the job.

Getting it there safely, efficiently and when it needs to be there is what makes the difference.

**That’s the part you don’t see. And that’s exactly where Murrow’s comes in.**

Online shopping may be convenient, but people still want to see furniture in person.

They want to sit in the chair. Feel the fabric. See the color in real light. Compare pieces side by side.

That’s why furniture showrooms still matter.

And behind every well-stocked showroom is a lot of furniture making its way from manufacturers.

That’s where Murrow’s comes in - helping manufacturers get their pieces to the showrooms where customers can see, touch and experience them for themselves.

Because sometimes, the easiest way to choose furniture is still to walk through the showroom door.

The traditional patio season is changing.

Outdoor living is no longer limited to a few warm months. More homeowners are creating spaces they can use well into fall and, in some cases, throughout the year.

That shift is changing what customers are looking for, too.

Furniture designed for covered patios, screened porches and four-season rooms is becoming a bigger part of the conversation. Comfortable seating, dining pieces and sectionals are moving beyond the traditional indoor/outdoor categories.

For furniture manufacturers and retailers, it’s an interesting shift to watch.

The lines between indoor and outdoor living keep changing and the furniture industry is evolving right along with them.

Fall Starts Before Fall

Summer may be winding down, but furniture businesses are already looking ahead.

Fall is when people start thinking about how they’ll use their homes differently. Patios become four-season rooms. Sunrooms get more attention. Outdoor spaces get ready for cooler weather.

And that means new furniture starts making its way into the picture.

For retailers and manufacturers, late summer is a good time to look at what’s coming next and get ready for the fall season.

The leaves aren't changing yet.

But the furniture season is.

Every family has one.

The chair nobody is allowed to sit in - except maybe the dog.

The spot at the table that's somehow permanently claimed.

The recliner that's older than half the people in the house.

Funny how a piece of furniture can become part of the family.

It holds the conversations, the celebrations, the homework, the Sunday dinners and all the ordinary Tuesdays that somehow become the memories we keep.

Furniture isn't just something we put in a room.

Once it gets there, it becomes part of what happens in that room.

And every August, as routines change and kids head back to school, you notice those places a little differently.

Some seats get quieter.

Some tables get a little less crowded.

And some chairs?

They're still not yours.
