Busy day! We put all four end grain oak cutting boards through the drum sander to get nice and flat. Squared the edges and added juice grooves. We were able to completely finish one for our customer today! The other three are for sale, and I should have them finished up this coming week!

We have had a lot of new people follow our page lately. What sets Kev/Cor apart from the rest, we either cut down the dead trees or pick up logs from our good friends. We sawmill the logs into boards, dry and turn them into something beautiful! All of our wood comes from Frederick county!

Our cutting boards come with a tin of homemade beeswax/oil to keep your board seasoned for years.

And on to the second glue up! Planed, cut, sanded and fit all the pieces together for these end grain oak cutting boards today! Glued up two of them for their second and final glue up. One of them is sold, but the other three will be available for purchase! They are heavy, very solid and will look incredible once they take their food safe oil bath. Like always, our boards come with our homemade beeswax/mineral oil wax that will keep your board looking fresh forever!

Dimensions of the boards that will be available:
1- 1.5" thick, 11.5" wide, 17" long
2- 1.5" thick, 11.5" wide, 15" long
3- 1.5" thick, 11.5" wide, 14" long

All boards will come with juice grooves unless you prefer without.

Busy, busy day and finally back home from the beach! Sold some maple slabs at the mill and brought some wood back home! A customer ordered a cutting board and gave us kind of free reigns on what wood and design. We decided to use some oak and we are making an end grain board for them. Beautiful looking boards and I should have 1 or 2 extras from this run. If you need a big, strong cutting board that won't scratch! Just wait to see the next glue up to be able to vision what they will look like!

The picture of the sawdust in the dumpster is from planing all of the boards down. Our chickens are always happy to have fresh bedding in their house!

The random picture of the long pine board is James' (Cor's son). He loves the story of David and Goliath. He came to the mill today, picked out a board, and we planed it down for him. This will be used to make a shield, sword and a spear!

Just about wrapped up on our customer's fireplace mantel. One more coat of poly and it's ready to go!

Little chilly this morning sawmilling. Almost needed a jacket. Customer brought over some telephone poles to mill down to 6x8s. Most of the poles are cut down to 17-18 foot long. They made some beautiful beams! Last two pictures are all of the tags, nails and staples we found 🤣
