Driver Alert – Ice Storms This Weekend
Team,
With ice storms forecasted this weekend, we want to remind everyone that you are the captain of your ship. No load, appointment, or schedule is more important than your safety.
Please take extra time for smart trip planning—check weather conditions along your entire route, plan safe stopping points, and be prepared to delay or shut down if conditions deteriorate. If it doesn’t feel safe, it probably isn’t.
Communication is critical. If weather impacts your ability to safely run, notify dispatch as early as possible so we can relay accurate updates to our customers. Timely and honest communication helps manage expectations and keeps everyone aligned.
The safety team will be monitoring the situation and will try to update on critical areas. As of now it looks like the entire southeast and east coast will be impacted.
Please, if there are any questions, reach out to your fleet manager, weekend/night dispatch or safety!
And as always I am available for any questions, advice, or opinions. If I don’t have the answer, we can figure it out.

Scales Express is looking for a skilled Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team in Tifton! If you have 2+ years of heavy-duty truck experience, know your way around diesel engines, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems — we want to hear from you.

🛠️ What You’ll Do:

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues

Conduct DOT inspections

Keep detailed service and repair records

Work with drivers and the maintenance crew to minimize downtime

Maintain a clean, safe shop environment

📅 Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, occasional weekends
💵 Pay: $20–$23/hr (based on experience)

Reginald’s journey in trucking began with a love for travel and a desire to see the beauty of America from behind the wheel. Over the past decade, he’s done just that—building a rewarding career that allows him to enjoy the freedom of the open road while being part of a family-oriented company.
