OK, folks, last one ... Decatur Co., reconstruction and widening of Whigham Dairy Road so it can be redesignated as a state route. The project is between US 84/SR 38 and SR 97/SR 309/Vada Road. It is a little more than half complete and is currently scheduled to be complete in late spring 2027. Hope you've enjoyed all the drone photos, courtesy of Tony Cravey, CDM Smith. Ben Hill Co., here's how your new bridge on Tulip Rd. at Young Creek is looking. The old bridge, built in 1955, is being replaced as part of GDOT's Low Impact Bridge Program. The LIBP helps local governments replace old or structurally deficient bridges. These are simple bridge replacement projects that utilize prefabricated bridge components (nice view of the box beams here) and off-site detours, which allows for faster completion. Atkinson Co., here's a look at the widening and reconstruction on US 441/SR 89/SR 31 from two to four lanes beginning south of the intersection of US 221/SR 31 and extending north of US 82/SR 520. Also includes construction of three bridges. Current scheduled completion date is spring 2027. Oops, forgot the roundabout at SR 133 and SR 112 in Worth Co., part of that widening/reconstruction project. With a few other photos. The limits of this project are from north of the Colquitt County line to north of SR 112 and it is currently scheduled to be complete early next year. Dare we even mention roundabouts again? Here we have the completed Ben Hill Co. roundabout on SR 90 @ Lower Rebecca Rd. with the Fitzgerald water tower in the background (love seeing that in photos). And a roundabout taking shape on the SR 133 widening/reconstruction project in Colquitt and Worth counties. This is where the roundabout will be located on the Moultrie side of Doerun. There will be a second roundabout on the other end. This is the project commonly called the Doerun section. Fitzgerald - Ben Hill Co. A late post, but just got new drone photos today of Five Points and wanted to share this. Look at you guys! Driving like pros, keeping traffic moving and yielding when necessary to traffic already in the roundabouts. That is key: traffic entering the roundabouts must yield to traffic already in the circles. The roundabouts are the same size, the south roundabout just appears larger in the video because it's closest to the camera. Please continue to use caution through this area. Yes, the project is ahead of schedule but it is still under construction so remember to Drive Alert so everyone can Arrive Alive. Thanks to Tony Cravey, CDM Smith, for the video.
