This is the view from our side of the highway.

Traffic moving just feet away while our operators are focused on helping someone else get home safely.

We have lights. We have cones. We have safety equipment. But none of it replaces an attentive driver who slows down and moves over.

When you see a tow truck working on the roadside, remember there’s a person standing beside it — someone with a family waiting for them to come home.

Give them the space to do their job safely.

The SCTPO serves as Brevard County’s regional transportation planning agency, working with local governments, transportation partners, and the community to create a safer, more efficient, and better-connected transportation system for everyone.

Together, we are promoting Florida’s Slow Down Move Over law and supporting the shared goal of Vision Zero—eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries on Brevard County roadways and beyond.

Working on the left shoulder of a busy highway is one of the most dangerous parts of our job.

On this call, we were recovering a vehicle after its driver was pulled over for Super Speeding. While we worked, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office stayed on scene to help protect our crew and everyone passing by.

A huge thank you to our law enforcement partners for helping create a safer work zone. Their presence allows us to focus on getting the job done and getting everyone home safely.
