N57 AIRPORT NEWS-
Dear New Garden Flying Field Tenants and Airport Community,
For many years, I have been a strong advocate for keeping airports open and accessible. One of the things that makes New Garden Flying Field (N57) special is the strong connection we maintain with the surrounding community and our shared enthusiasm for aviation.
As aviation activity at the airport continues to grow and the surrounding area experiences increased development, it is also my responsibility to ensure that we maintain appropriate safety and security measures for the airport and its tenants.
With that in mind, the airport has been awarded a grant to install an “attractive” security fence and gate near the Aviation Center. Construction is expected to begin within the next two weeks.
While this project will introduce controlled access to the ramp area adjacent to the Aviation Center, I want to emphasize that New Garden Flying Field will remain an open and welcoming airport. Promoting aviation and inviting the public to experience the airport remains a core part of our mission.
Throughout the year we actively welcome the community through events and programs such as our annual air show, open houses, Cars & Coffee gatherings, and our very popular Future Aviators Summer Camp, which attracts hundreds of young aviation enthusiasts from across the country each summer to learn about flying and experience the airport firsthand.
We will also continue to welcome visitors who enjoy coming to the airport to watch airplanes and experience aviation up close.
The airport offers several public viewing areas, including:
The Future Aviators Pavilion, which features multiple picnic tables and a comfortable place for families and visitors to relax while watching aircraft activity
The roadside overlook area, which provides a great vantage point for aircraft arrivals and departures
Ramp-side picnic tables, which will remain available for visitors accessing the ramp through the Aviation Center
At its heart, New Garden Flying Field has always been more than just an airport—it is a place where the community can experience aviation, where young people can be inspired to pursue flight, and where visitors can simply enjoy watching airplanes in a welcoming environment. This project helps ensure we can continue offering that experience while responsibly managing the airport’s growth and activity.
If you have any questions regarding this project or other improvements at New Garden Flying Field, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for being part of the N57 community.
