Getting a new boat project started in the shop this winter. This design is for a 21’ inboard motorboat. This is my most recent boat design, fresh off the drawing board. Looks like a fun boat, and a fun project too!

Here we are. Barnwell Boatworks has found a new home in Traverse City. Take a peek inside our new work shop, and meet the new shop dog-in-training “Olive.” This facility is going to really have a positive impact on our ability to better serve our customers. Looking forward to some new projects!

Have a look at our latest build. We have been getting a lot of requests for custom timber frame buildings lately, which has kept the chisels sharp here at the shop! A mighty shed indeed, this heavy duty frame is truly built to last, we think it looks pretty sharp too. All mortise and tenon joinery, oak dowel fastened, locally sourced white pine timber’s.

I had a great time recently working over in Mackinaw City with one of my longtime customers Captain Crowbar of the Ugly Anne. Check out the latest design/build from Barnwell Boatworks. This custom garden shed is a traditionally built timber frame utilizing locally sourced, rough sawn cedar timbers and pine sheeting. This little shack is built to last!

Here it is! The finished product. After three full months in the shop, this carriage is almost ready to roll. We are just waiting on some upholstery work to get her all finished up. For now, on to the next project…
