If your flight is changed by the airline and you need to be rebooked, one of the easiest ways to teach someone to help you is via the airline’s Twitter account.

In my case, the airline rebooked me from a direct flight to a non-direct one that would no longer work for us. I was able to quickly and easily get rebooked through Twitter.

At least while Twitter still exists, do the following for the best results:

1. Provide your booking reference code and let them know what issue you need help with.
2. Provide a specific solution - in my case, I had looked up available flights and let them know which one I wanted to be rebooked onto.
3. BE POLITE AND PATIENT. Help is not instantaneous, and remember that you’re speaking to a human being. Treat them in a way that would make your parents proud to have raised you.

The most frequent question I’m asked is “what is the first card I should get if I’m new to travel hacking?”

Ready for the answer?…..

…..I can’t talk about it on social media. So frustrating, right?

The best beginner card has:

- a $95 annual fee
- super flexible and valuable miles
- easy ways to earn and lots of transfer partners
- a great current intro bonus

Want to know what it is? Comment or DM the phrase " " and I’ll send you the link!

I promise I’m not being deliberately coy. I want to hook you up with this card but this bank does not allow us to promote them on Instagram, so we need to resort to being ultra secret about it.

Hesitant to open a card with an annual fee? Don’t be!

There are cards with no annual fee that can give you great value, but most of the cards that will allow you to earn the most points are going to charge an annual fee. The most common charge is $95, but “premium cards” with high end perks (like the Capital One Venture X or AmEx Platinum) can charge anywhere from $250 per year to close to $700!

My favorite tool to determine whether an annual fee card is worth it for me is ‘s credit card calculator. Right now he has calculators for AmEx cards and for the bank we can’t talk about, but using them will give you an idea of how to figure out the value of other cards that you’re on the fence about because of the fees. (The link to Ask Sebby’s calculators is in my bio)

I put aside money each month to ensure that when my annual fees hit, I can pay them without a problem. Right now I pay a little over $1,000 per year in annual fees, but I’ve gotten approximately $20,000 in free travel so far with those cards!

💰 Credit cards can be your gateway to regular travel for nearly-free. They offer us amazing potential!

But travel hacking requires an attention to your personal finances that can get tricky when you have multiple credit cards, especially when you are putting most or all of your everyday spend on them.

The best course of action is to treat your credit cards like debit cards - that means only spend the money that you actually have available. If you only spend what you have, and pay your bills in full every month, you won't go into debt and your credit score may even improve.
