🥖Today was our last day in San Francisco. We started our day back on the Big Bus Tour which took us back to Chinatown. (On the way to the tour we walked passed the Boudin Bakery where they were making the sourdough animals you see below.)

🐉San Francisco's Chinatown is the most densely populated neighborhood west of Manhattan. We saw lots of restaurants, stores, and open air markets. All of the street signs were in English and Chinese also.

🚃Once we left Chinatown, we walked (partway up some steep hills 😳) to jump on the Hyde and Powell cable car, another San Francisco staple! We rode the car to the top of Lombard Street, know as one of the crookedest streets in the world.

🍫We then took the Muni (SF's public transit) down to Ghirardelli Square, where all of Ghirardelli's chocolate was once made.

🎵After visiting Ghiradelli Square, we took the bus up to the Haight-Ashbury district, which was the center of San Francisco's counter culture during the 1960s. We saw an old VW bus that was touring the area, and up on Ashbury, we saw (among some beautifully painted homes), the former home of the Grateful Dead!

🏘 We hopped on the Muni again to head to Alamo Square Park to check out the iconic Painted Ladies, San Francisco's beautifully painted Victorian homes. They didn't disappoint!

🚤 The end of our day took us back to Pier 39 one last time where we saw some fun colored fishing boats.

⚓️After our trip to Alcatraz, we headed down near Fisherman's Wharf and saw the SS Jeremiah O'Brian. This is the only WWII ship that is still in original condition. It was present at the storming of the beach at Normandy.

🍔We then made our way to the west coast staple, In N Out. They only serve burgers and fries. To me, it was kind of like Five Guys if you've ever eaten there. It was good and fueled us for our next adventure!

🚍After we ate, we hopped on an open air bus tour that allowd you to hop on/hop off at several stops. We saw many iconic San Francisco places. Check out the photos below!

🌁Our last stop of the day was a harbor cruise that took us under the Golden Gate Bridge. It was just amazing!

Today is our last day in the city and we're planning a few more stops. Check back later to see where we've been!

☀️Yesterday was a busy day and we PERFECT weather! We began our day by taking one of San Francisco's many street cars down to the waterfront and boarding a ferry to Alcatraz. Once we got on the water, we were able to get a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

🔒Once we reached "The Rock", we were able to begin exploring. Threr was a lot to see on your own, as well as a 30 minute self guided audio tour. We learned that Alcatraz began as a military base before it was a federal prison.

🌁After a few airport delays, we made it to San Francisco! We are headed out to see some family, so we decided to make a short stop in thr City by the Bay.

🚉We took San Francisco's public transit train (BART) to out hotel and then headed down to Fishermen's Wharf, accessible by BART, streetcar, Uber/Lyft/Waymo (self driving cars).
We took a walk down to Pier 39 to eat and check out the sights. It was a little foggy, so it was hard to see the Golden Gate Bridge, but we hope to see that today.
