This week we have a special helper in the shop joining us for a school internship, getting a firsthand look at what goes into marine upholstery.

So far he’s been learning how we remove old vinyl, prep cushions, and start the process of rebuilding them step by step. There’s a lot more that goes into each cushion than most people expect — from materials to technique, everything plays a role in how well it holds up in Florida conditions.

He’s also getting a glimpse into the day to day of running a small business and what it takes to keep things moving behind the scenes.

Another set of boat cushions brought back to life. ⚓

This customer dropped off their original cushions that had seen better days. It had cracked vinyl, worn stitching, and even some hidden rot in the backing.

We completely rebuilt the set using new marine-grade vinyl, Tenara PTFE thread for long-lasting seams, fresh foam where needed, and a rot-resistant composite backer to make sure these cushions hold up in the marine environment.

Now they’re back on the boat looking clean, bright, and ready for the water.
