Toyota announced today that they will be unveiling a new all-electric SUV in the coming months.

The automaker, which has been seen as a lagger when it comes to all-electric vehicles, says that it’s their ‘first step’ for battery-electric vehicles.

I don't know about you, but I am totally here for the growing trend of putting electric propulsion in classic cars. Much of the pioneering work has been done by small aftermarket shops: Zelectric and EV West in California, Electric Classic Cars in the UK, and so on. But increasingly, OEMs are giving it a go as well.

On sale next year, it includes a Bolt EV motor and 60kWh battery pack.

Data is king, and when it comes to information on the frequency of repairs on automobiles, Consumer Reports has more data than anyone. For its latest report, it did a deep dive into the data from its 2019 and 2020 reliability surveys of electric and gasoline powered vehicles.

Consumer Reports has examined its most recent data and determined that the cost of maintenance for an electric car is half that for a conventional car.

Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson told me the projected range of the upcoming Lucid Air luxury sedan during a midday break of a mileage run in one of the company’s prototypes. We had just pulled into Lucid's headquarters in Newark, California, as the chase car and current champion of range with 402 miles—the Tesla Model S—was depleted of energy. The car had covered an impressive 357.

The startup's electric sedan gets a Tesla-beating (by far) EPA-estimated range. We rode along as the prototype got close to achieving it.

Dearborn, Michigan – Ford’s Mustang Mach-E 1400 electric vehicle (EV) is a study in how much power can be harnessed without using a drop of gas. In April, the automakers showed off the Mustang Cobra Jet 1400, another 1,400hp EV Mustang built for the drag strip.
