Because we're getting lots of questions, and our website is still a work in progress, here's a look at some of our FAQ's:
How much does it cost to rent one?
Our standard rental rate is $55 per day unless otherwise posted. That’s a whole lot cheaper than buying one, and a whole lot more fun than sitting at home wondering what you should’ve done that day.
How long is a “day” rental?
A day rental starts at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. the following day. We know that sounds a little specific, but that’s how Pete and Ollie like to keep the wheels turning.
Do I need to make a reservation?
We sure recommend it. Showing up without a reservation might work out, but it also might end with us giving you an apologetic look and a shrug.
Do I need a driver’s license?
You’ll need a valid photo ID to rent. No, you do not need a commercial pilot’s license, boating permit, or anything fancy like that.
Are helmets required?
We strongly recommend them, because looking cool is great, but protecting your noggin is better. Helmet requirements may also depend on age and applicable rules.
How far will the bike go on a charge?
That depends on a few things — rider size, terrain, assist level, wind, and whether you spend the whole ride pretending you’re in the Indy 500. We’ll give you a realistic idea of range before you head out.
What if the battery dies?
First, we’d prefer that not happen. Second, we’ll help you understand the bike’s range before you leave. If you ignore all common sense and ride like you’re fleeing the law, you may end up pedaling more than planned.
What if I wreck it, damage it, or run it into something dumb?
Please try not to. Renters are responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear. In other words, a little dust is one thing; launching it into a ditch is another.
Where are you located?
We’re based in Vallonia, Indiana. Around here, that means you’re never too far from a nice road, some fresh air, and probably somebody who knows your cousin.
Can I book online?
That’s the plan. We want booking to be simple, quick, and a whole lot easier than chasing somebody down by phone.
Are you just renting e-bikes, or do you plan to sell them too?
Right now we’re focused on rentals, but we hope to grow into e-bike sales and service as the business grows. One step at a time — Pete and Ollie are ambitious, but they still believe in doing things right.
What if I still have questions?
Then ask away. We’re happy to help. We’d rather answer your questions ahead of time than have you standing there looking confused in the parking lot.
