USA Truck has been named to FourKites' Global Premier Carrier List (PCL) for the first half of 2026.

The semiannual list distinguishes carriers who consistently give their shipper partners dependable, real-time visibility into shipments — visibility that translates into fewer manual check calls, reduced dwell time, and quicker response when disruptions occur.

The full Premier Carrier List is available at fourkites.ai/premier-carriers.

Brake Safety Week is here!

From August 23–29, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will conduct its annual Brake Safety Week. During this initiative, trained and certified inspectors will perform commercial vehicle inspections with a special focus on brake systems and components.

This year's inspection emphasis is on brake drums and rotors, helping ensure commercial vehicles remain safe and road-ready and reinforcing the importance of proactive maintenance and equipment safety. Regular brake inspections help ensure compliance, reduce the risk of mechanical failures, and contribute to safer roadways for everyone.

At USA Truck, safety starts with well-maintained equipment and a shared commitment to operating safely every day.

During CVSA Brake Safety Week (Aug 23-29), trained and certified inspectors in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. will conduct routine commercial motor vehicle inspections with a focus on brake systems and components. Vehicles with brake-related out-of-service violations, or any other out-of-service violations, will be removed from roadways until those violations are corrected.

Inspectors will also play close attention to drums and rotors, the focus area for this year’s brake-safety initiative. Brake drum and rotor issues may affect a vehicle’s brake efficiency. Broken pieces of drums and rotors may become dislodged from the vehicle as it travels along the roadway and cause damage other vehicles or result in injuries or fatalities to the motoring public.

The 2026 CVSA Brake Safety Week is Aug. 23-29.

In addition to reporting inspections and brake-related out-of-service violations, inspectors also capture and provide data.

Here's a look at some of the data from last year's Brake Safety Week:
🔹During the 2025 initiative, in the U.S., inspectors conducted 13,700 inspections and discovered 2,035 (14.9%) brake-related out-of-service violations. In Canada, inspectors conducted 1,459 inspections and discovered 260 (17.8%) brake-related out-of-service violations. In Mexico, inspectors conducted 16 inspections and discovered one (6.3%) brake-related out-of-service violations.
🔹Combined, 15,175 inspections were conducted, and 2,296 (15.1%) brake-related out-of-service violations were identified throughout North America.
🔹The most-cited reason a vehicle was placed out of service was because 20% or more of the vehicle’s (or combination of vehicles’) service brakes had an out-of-service condition. Inspectors identified 1,199 such violations, which is a 52.2% out-of-service rate.
