🚨PROMISE UPDATE🚨

We sincerely apologize for the delay in an update. The day we experienced yesterday was one of the most challenging we have had in over a decade of loving and caring four all the animals that have been a part of mission.

Promise is critical. Some diagnostics have been started, but the results will take 5 to 10 days. The next diagnostic requires her breathing to be stable enough for the anesthesia and yesterday it wasn’t. Promise has fear based reactivity, which she had back in South Carolina, and it manifests in anxiety and leading to reactivity. She is constantly anxious because of her issues being triggered by strangers and the environment she is in and that has kept her breathing distressed.

We are waiting for an update this morning to determine if she will be stable enough for this diagnostic. If we can’t stabilize her breathing, so that we can proceed we will have to seriously discuss her quality of life. It is not fair to continue using her to struggle to breathe if we can’t proceed with anything that will help her. This is a conversation we have been having since the beginning.

In addition to her general condition we have been faced dealing with people who are judging our choices and demanding that we put her through anything and everything in an attempt to save her. These people refuse to think of Promise first and it has been hard to manage these conversations.

There have always been some issues with the hospital and we have had to carefully navigate those.

Finally…the costs of her care and treatment continue to climb and the contributions to pay for them have not kept up. We have to have funding to continue care and we can not be expected to face that burden alone.

Here's the word from Beaches. Please note that the early entry time is ONLY for the first night. I think they anticipate a huge crowd, and are adjusting accordingly.

Beaches Summertime Cruisin' kicks off the season on Wednesday, July 7th at Portland International Raceway. Gates will open at 2:00pm for opening night only (Regular time is 3:00). Starting out the season with 'Hit Machine', a local band favorite. Pricing this season is $5 per person for a show car participant. Bikes/motorcycles are $5 whether 1 or 2 people. General admission is still $10 per person, with 12 & under free. As a reminder, no food or alcohol can be brought into the park. We have great choices for you... which is also how we make money for Charity. After a year off, it will be nice to see all our friends again, and see if you picked up anything new
