Gary's Marine Electronics Service

Gary's Marine Electronics Service Honesty, Integrity, Competence If you have, or believe you have , an electrical problem with any of your onboard systems or devices, then I’m the man you need.

After 15 plus years of servicing a myriad of electronic and electro-mechanical devices, with a couple years of actual boat building thrown in for kicks, I have decided to specialize in servicing the nautical class. The process is simple…you call me, we discuss particulars, I take down your pertinent info…model/serial of device or appliance, name of vessel, dock and/or slip number, your name and ph

one, we set up a time convenient for both of us, and voila…I arrive at the appointed time to solve your problem. When I arrive, you will have the payment for the first hour in hand, $80 cash only, please. This is a non-refundable good faith gesture on your part. I’ve been in too many situations in a past life where people just refuse to pay for service!! This payment covers from the time I step on board until I disembark. Be advised that every boat is built differently, and the majority of the difficulty lies in finding the physical location, then gaining access to said location in such a manner as to cause no disturbance to the surrounding area. This process, depending on the nature of the trouble, can EASILY exceed one hour!!! Upon properly diagnosing your trouble, if possible, I will correct it immediately. If indeed parts are required, I will do my best to secure an estimate to complete right there on the spot…note, time on the phone with parts distributors is billable as well…time is money, you understand…or the next business day if need be. Parts cost plus sales tax will be paid, cash, up front…another good faith gesture by you…and any labor after the first hour will be billed at $60 per, so we can get right down to the minute for you. I’m not trying to rob anyone, including myself. So, gimme a call, let’s talk about the situation and see if I can help. If I can’t, I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction, because my objective is to provide the best, most professional service to YOU!! (609) 276-8736

Went to see Wayne in Forked River yesterday. He will be upgrading his electronics suite aboard his 29' Amberjack, and has selected Gary's to the install. I found him to be personable and friendly. Looking forward to the arrival of the new gear!

Just got back from a visit to Mike, the proud owner of a 24' center console, who had a dead depth finder. Inside of 20 minutes, he had the solution to his problem, and a big smile on his face. I look fo rward to meeting his dad one day.

Today's meet n greet highlight occcurred at Laurel Harbor Marina. The owner of Sun Chaser III was out and about when I introduced myself to him. We had a lengthy conversation that began by with an electrolysis problem being experienced by his next slip neighbor, who also happens to be named Gary. We progressed into areas of how unappreciative businesses are of "long time" customers who are important when they spend LARGE amounts of cash, but for "small" problems, are insignificant, and how things like that have contributed to the decline of society. He was very happy to hear that my ethics are such that I would make a point of showing up for small problems BECAUSE of the fact he trusted me with a big one! In the end, I believe that another solid contact was made in the local boating community!

Yesterday's meet and greet highlight was a conversation with a gentleman who's a retired Luhr's carpenter. He had to retire because he had a stroke and is now blind on his left. I offered my services to the man in any way I could assist due to his affliction, and the condition of his boat. I have no problem pitching in to help those in their time of need!

The most outstanding thing about today's meet and greet was feeling the change in people's handshakes. On my introduction, their handshakes were weak and tentative, but on parting company, their handshakes were very firm, even the woman on the sailboat!! Very positive vibes going on here!! Too bad tomorrow calls for rain all day!!

It has BEGUN!! The publicity campaign officially kicked off today at Causeway Marina near LBI. I had the distinct pleasure of speaking with 5 individuals who received our card, and 2 of them actually asked for more!! After notifying the owner of the boat I was there to work on, I proceeded to head North. I swung into Key Harbor Marina in Waretown, where I found a man from Pa. who was disappointed with his new Humminbird system. We talked about it, and when he completes his move to Toms River, I will be programming his nav system for him! From there, I arrived at Forked River State Marina and had a fantastic conversation with the owner of Clamdigger, a 34'? cabin cruiser, who was getting noise on his radio stemming from a new ignition system he just installed. I gave him a few items that he might want to address before calling us, as they were minor and I can't see taking his money for this type of fix. He appreciated my candor, and my advice, and he will follow up if those suggestions fail to cure his problem. Also had an interesting encounter with a woman on a sailboat, girls don't scare me, and she was surprised to see that I'm right in Forked River. Went down Bay Ave to Ted and Sons Marina where I met an excellent charter captain, operator of Miss Robin, a 28' Grady White. We spoke for the better part of an hour, and he asked for more cards. He also advised me to check out "Barnegat Fishin' Hole", a website for a group of local fishermen. Definitely on the radar, Ha ha ha. Swung by Townsend's Marina, but it was devoid of life. Also left some at Shop Rite Lacey, Shop Rite Waretown, and the new Big Lots in Barnegat, although that's still under construction. More tomorrow.
