Everyone keeps asking why we chose to cruise Europe instead of exploring by land, and honestly… it came down to one thing: simplicity.

We wanted one home base while still seeing as much as possible without constantly packing, unpacking, dragging luggage through train stations, and losing entire days to travel logistics. With a 9 and 11 year old, that mattered A LOT.

Our itinerary looks like this:
🇪🇸 Barcelona — 2 nights before the cruise site see relax and adjust to the time change
🇪🇸 Palma de Mallorca — caves + beach day
🇫🇷 Provence via Marseille — completely winging it
🇮🇹 Pisa — Leaning Tower + beach day
🇮🇹 Rome — the Colosseum + Vatican
🇮🇹 Naples + Capri — private boat charter
🚢 A sea day to relax and enjoy the ship
Disembarking and
🇫🇷 Finishing with 3 nights in Paris

To do this exact trip by land would’ve meant approximately
🏨 7–8 different hotels
✈️ 3–4 flights
🚆 5+ train rides
🧳 20–30+ hours spent in transit and switching locations

Instead, we unpack once, wake up somewhere new almost every day, and spend our time EXPERIENCING Europe instead of figuring out how to get to the next place.

For this trip, cruising Europe wasn’t just the easier option… it was the clear winner.
