I did not come from the auto industry, but from motor and controls, PLC's in the industrial world. Communication is similar and not so similar. My jurney in to electric boating has been fascinating and something that is not talked about in my circles. I started to dive down the rabbit hole and it has been amazing, to say the least. Telematics has taken all the different communications and all the different controllers and combined them to make one program to rule them all. Just kidding, but that's what it feels like. It has been an amazingly fun time with loT, nework routing and devices to name a few. Been a while since I have used python so it is fun to get back in.

This is all so I can stay current in the way of electric boating. I really think if a tech wants to be able to stay current we should create an avenue for learning. From my knowledge, you have to be an "engineer" to be able to learn but with the cost of education, who can afford to go into debt to learn? Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but apprenticeships and access to information on how to do these kinds of things should not be limited to how much money you make. I do not want to downgrade a formal education; I want tools out there for everyone who wants to learn to be able to learn. We have some avenues to learn in the boating community I know most people will say are affordable, but let's be honest. Many high school students won't be able to afford $500-$1,500 to learn what most online learning classes cost. Between car insurance and gas, food, and so on, they have to work hard to stay afloat.
I guess this ended up being a rant but if there are some students out there in Ventura area that want to learn more about how electrification in the marine industry is advancing and some job opportunities in a nonformal classroom, then lets talk.

Thank you if you read all of this.
