Antique Speedboat Rides at Moes Marine Take a ride on an antique speedboat along the Vermilion River and Lake Erie. Come aboard and ride the Weir Wind.

Founded in 1938, Moes Marine Service is a family-owned and operated full-service boatyard specializing in the repair and restoration of wood boats. We share our love of the water, boats and boating with our community and those visiting our hometown Vermilion. From 1938 through 1949, except for the war years, Julius "Mike" Moes offered speedboat rides out of Moes Marine. After a hiatus of 67 years, the tradition continues, and although the boat is different, the thrill is the same!

Captain Tom facilitated a surprise wedding proposal on the Dodge. Family and friends were waiting on shore, and bystanders up and down the river cheered. She said yes! Then the happy couple went for a spin on the lake and back to Chez Francois for dinner.
