If there is one thing you may notice from my recent posts, it is that Hotel Xcaret México is not your average all-inclusive resort.

One example of this is the turn down service at the resort. It was not a standard turn down service where the maids prepare your beds for the evening and leave a small piece of chocolate.

Instead, every night you would find a new handmade basket with different candy and snacks that are popular in Mexico. The baskets were also yours to bring home which was such a nice touch.

My family loved coming back to the room after dinner every night to see what treats they left. And the baskets were a great souvenir that when I use them at home, I will always think of our amazing time at the resort. ❤️

Today I am going to highlight the rooms at Hotel Xcaret México

😮 The first impression was amazing! As you walk in you are greeted with multiple gifts that are yours to take home including a large resort canvas bag, 2 reusable cups and a book that is all about the resort. So starting off I was already amazed at the many gifts they included in the room.

🛏 I found the standard rooms to be very spacious. In the main sleeping area we had 2 Queen Beds and a sleeper sofa plus a small table and chairs, a vanity area with another chair, countertop with coffee maker, and a mini fridge and snacks underneath that were restocked daily.

🌴Every room has a patio or balcony and the balcony is huge! It had 1 hammock hanging (plus another one on the side if you wanted to hang up a 2nd one), a small built in bench with cushions, and another chair with small side table. A family of 4 could easily sit out there all at once.

🛁The bathroom area of the room, well that is another story! The design definitely took a little getting used to! There were double sinks and a jetted bathtub that was outside the bathroom and open to the room. Behind sliding wooden doors was the main bathroom. There was a huge shower, closet to hang your clothes and then a toilet room behind another door. The toilet room had glass that you could frost with the flick of a switch when you were in there so no one could see you (not sure why it would not just be frosted all the time but it worked lol)

I will add that I did like having the sink area outside of the bathroom so that when one person was showering the rest of the family could be getting ready for dinner. But IMO the bathtub in the room was a waste of space. I wish instead of a seperate bathtub there was more space for storage since the room was lacking a little in that department.

But overall the rooms were big with a large outdoor space and they had beautiful design staying authentic to the Mexican culture and I really loved them.

Plus the resort stocked every single thing you could imagine you would need including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, even bath salts and bubble bath! So that was a nice extra touch that added to the luxury of the room.

Last week I highlighted a lot about the Xcaret parks that I visited during my recent vacation so this week I want to highlight a few things about the resort!

Let'a start with arrival at the airport and the check in process.

🛎 Hotel Xcaret has their own private lounge at Cancun airport where you can rest in A/C and do some pre-check for your hotel stay when you arrive. Then it is off to the resort. Transfers are included for free with your stay!

🚌 The Xcaret shuttle bus to the resort was surprisingly super comfortable. The seats were a soft plush fabric and very spacious, they reclined, had cup holders, and the bus even had a bathroom and mini fridge with cold drinks. My husband even fell asleep during the 50 minute drive to the resort which he said that attests to how comfortable the seats were cause he never does that 🤣

🥥 Upon arriving at the resort we were greeted in the lobby with homemade refreshing popsicles in flavors like mango, coconut, and coffee. We stopped by the front desk where we were assigned our Casa and room number and finished checking in.

It was a great start to our vacation!

Last resort day at Hotel Xcaret México and we soaked it all in!

Started the morning with kayaks and stand up paddleboards in the lagoon and then we headed down to the ocean.

Definitely no sargussem here! The ocean water was a gorgeous shade of aqua that faded into a bright turquoise blue. 🌊

Yesterday we did our last park day of the trip at Xenses, a sensory theme park built around optical illusions and using your 5 senses. It challenges what is reality.

We loved this park and agreed it was one of our favorites. I especially loved the bird flight where you got to fly like a bird through the trees and the relaxing mud bath. But there were so many fun activities we did in the park!

🤿 Another park, another amazing day! 🤿

This time we hit up Xel-Há which is a massive, all-inclusive natural aquatic and eco-friendly theme park.

The name comes from the Mayan phrase meaning "where water is born" and is centered around a giant natural inlet and lagoon where underground rivers flow out to the sea.

We did the natural lazy river through mangroves, snorkeled in the inlet, and even got enough courage to do the Scenic Lighthouse waterslide which is four spiral slides surrounding a lighthouse 130 feet tall.

Yesterday was another relaxing resort day at Hotel Xcaret México

This time we tried out one of the rooftop pools (the resort has 3!)

This pool offered chairside service for food and drinks and 5 waterslides down to another pool with a swim up bar. All the food was fantastic but the ribe eye tacos were my fav!

It was just a nice relaxing day after 2 park days back to back.

💥Yesterday was so amazing!! 💥

We headed to the 3rd park of our stay, XPLOR which is the park that is all about adventure!

We decided to go to the park into the late afternoon and stay as it switched over to XPLOR Fuego which at mighttime they add extra lighting and ambiance to add to the fun. We did a lot including:

🛺 Drove ATVs threw caves and the jungle
🥗 Ate a delicipous buffet dinner (which was included in our visit for free)
🌊 Rode the Toboganxote waterslide which is the only 5 in 1 waterslide in the world
🛘 Swam through more caves and the highlight of the day‐
🌴 Ziplined through the jungle on a series of 7 ziplines, each getting higher and higher as you go.

It was such an amazing experience and we all had fun (even my husband who is afraid of heights did the ziplining!) I cannot wait to see the professional pictures they took (these pics are just on my phone)

💧 After 2 days at the parks, we did a relaxing pool day yesterday at the infinity pool. 💧

One of the things that really stood out to me was that twice while we were there they had live performances come by.

🎺The first was a mariachi band

🛕The second was a traditional Mayan cultural performance

The performers wore traditional feathered headdresses and body paint and enacted ancestral dances and rituals as they played music on Mayan flutes and drums.

So when I say this is not your typical all inclusive resort, this is one of the ways it stands out! They don't just play music by the pool, they perform it! It makes for such a unique experience.
