Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Capt. Eric Morris of Point Pleasant, who passed away this past Tuesday.
Capt. Eric dedicated 49 years of his life to the river, and spent multiple decades with Neale Marine serving as the captain of the SARAH E. NEALE and MISTER CHARLIE NEALE. He earned the respect and friendship of countless coworkers, fellow mariners, and friends during his career safely moving cargo along our waterways. His knowledge, professionalism, steady leadership, and love for the river left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.
Eric was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue, who passed away last year. We find comfort in hoping they are together once again.
Capt. Eric will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to live on through the people he mentored, the memories he created, and the example he set throughout nearly five decades of service to our industry.
