We had the chance to visit Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point twice between our two itineraries, and getting two days there was such a treat because we got to experience it in two totally different ways.
The first stop was all about relaxing and treating ourselves, so we booked a cabana. Honestly... for us, it was worth it and we might have spoiled ourselves for other visits moving forward. Having our own shaded space with comfy seating, complimentary snacks, drinks, sunscreen, snorkeling equipment and a home base just steps from the beach made the whole day feel easy and stress-free. It was especially nice to have a quieter beach setting and not having to worry about getting a chair/lounger or waiting in a line for lunch. If you like comfort, convenience, or have a group splitting the cost, we'd definitely recommend it. And pro tip, cabana 15 is where it’s at with the bathrooms right across the way and the lunch spot, designated specifically for cabanas, just a short walk away!
The second stop was more about exploring everything else the island has to offer. To start off our day we headed to “True-True BBQ”, this isn’t just one of the spots to get lunch, this is also the spot you will find the character meet and greets. Our goal was to get our daughter all of the characters autographs and pictures since we have not done that yet on this island. We went ahead and grabbed our table for lunch and just went from line to line and by mid morning we had successfully met this requirement and grabbed our lunch before heading out to explore the rest of the island. We headed straight for the nature walk which lead us to another part of the beach where we spent time walking the beautiful beach, taking in the crystal-clear water, hiking up to INCREDIBLE views, enjoying “secret” island spots, and just appreciating how stunning Lookout Cay really is. The colors of the water are unreal, and Disney did a great job blending the beauty of the Bahamas with their signature touches.
Our overall thoughts: Lookout Cay is gorgeous, peaceful, and a perfect beach escape. It feels less about nonstop activities and more about slowing down, relaxing, and enjoying the scenery. Having two days there let us experience both the luxury side with the cabana and the simple joy of just enjoying the island.
If we had to choose, we'd absolutely go back—and yes, we'd book the cabana again.
Have you been to Lookout Cay yet? Would you get a cabana or keep it simple beachside?
