In past times physical contact with the ground was an ordinary way of life. People didn’t have shoes therefore, they walked barefoot or used animal hides for footwear or bedding. It is believed that these practices allowed for a transfer of energy from the earth into the body. This then led to fascinating evidence that the Earth was able to help heal the body. When we connect with the Earth we can connect better with ourselves which leads to astounding therapeutic effects.

In Ancient Chinese History - Qi (pronounced chee) is a central principle, understood as the energy or natural force that fills the universe. Throughout many Ancient stories we see connections between the Earth and energy.

In the 1800’s a natural health movement emerged in Germany. Adolf Just, a founder of naturopathy and a leader in the movement offered healing routines that included a vegetarian diet, no alcohol or smoking with an emphasis on walking barefoot and sleeping on the ground. He highlights this and the “Earth Power” in his book Return to Nature!

In the 1990’s a retired cable TV pioneer started to think about the body in terms of electrical grounding. Clint Ober worked for 25 years to ensure the best most crisp images were delivered. This was done by the cable being shielded so that signals don’t leak out or that you have disturbances. The cable consists of a copper conductor surrounded by a mesh shield. This shield is connected to the Earth (grounded) so then the Earth can deliver or absorb electrons and prevent the buildup of electoral charges in the system. This stabilization process creates crisp clear pictures. When Ober retired he started thinking about how his experience with cable TV might be relevant to the human body. His curiosity led to him pioneering ways to bring the Earth’s energy inside, for healing use while people sit or sleep. Clint’s work shows evidence that connection with the Earth builds substantial changes within the physiology, including reduction of inflammation. Later more research and evidence has shown multiple ways Earthing/Grounding can have healing benefits on the body.

It is a simple practice that can have immediate benefits if you surrender and let the experience in - it may feel silly - it may feel unrealistic. It maybe really hard to feel like it’s okay to do. Do it anyway.

I am passing some insight I received earlier this morning- don’t TRY - just DO. DO this and see if it works for you. Don’t half way try - but totally show up for yourself and just be present. Do it for you. Do it for your personal peace and to encourage your growth. I’ve included some basics into grounding/Earthing in this link and hope you will find it helpful to give this a real GO!
