Hans’ Boat Works has been serving the boating industry for over 15 years. We pride ourselves in our service and boat sales. We are expanding and currently looking for someone to help out in our parts department and also someone to help out in our service department. We are looking for people who want to stay around long-term, as we are willing to train. We work Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with possibility for working overtime in summer months. These are full time, permanent positions with benefits and vacation.
Parts Assistant
This position includes everything from ordering and receiving parts to cashiering work orders. Applicant must be friendly and personable with great customer service skills.
Typical Duties: Answering phone calls pertaining to parts, greeting customers, ordering and receiving parts, cashiering over-the-counter parts sales, cashiering work orders, keeping the parts area neat and clean, keeping track of and updating inventory, keeping track of stock parts and reordering when necessary, and helping customers and technicians find parts.
Requirements: Friendly and personable, ability to problem-solve, able to efficiently use technology and learn new computer programs quickly, VERY organized and clean, punctual and reliable, and willing to help out co-workers as needed.
Technician
This position includes everything from washing boats and cleaning the shop to oil changes and engine rebuilds. We frequently work on boats that cost as much as $100,000 or more and we need someone that is exceptionally detail oriented and willing to learn how we do things. We are looking for someone who asks questions when they do not understand. Since we are a small business, our ideal applicant needs to be willing to do whatever is needed around the shop.
Typical Duties: Wash boats, shop maintenance (cleaning, sweeping floors, cleaning work benches, keeping area tidy), oil changes, tune-ups, impellers, paint prep and work, welding and fabrication.
Requirements: Mechanically inclined (doesn’t need prior marine experience but attention to detail and a basic knowledge of how things work is essential), excellent customer service and communication, detail oriented, organized, ability to multi-task, ability to meet deadlines, punctual and reliable.
