Due to sewage issues the visitor center is closed. It will be closed throughout the weekend because of this. Scheduled programs are going on as planned, however, please plan accordingly. There are no restrooms available on the park at this time. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Amongst other things, the visitor center now does not have running water. Our main water line into the building has been busted. Restrooms are unavailable across the entire park at this moment in time.

Join Seasonal Interpretive Ranger John Wallace for an interactive program exploring Overhill Cherokee fur hunting and trade, its role in creating Fort Loudoun, and its impact on Overhill society and culture in the 18th century Little Tennessee River Valley. Feel real furs, explore reconstructed Overhill living spaces, and learn how everyday objects can impact an entire region and its people.

This 45-minute program is free to the public. We will meet in the picnic pavilion before taking a 10-15 minute walk to the fort. Bathrooms and seating will be available at the visitor center but not the fort or picnic pavilion. Wear clothes appropriate for hot weather and bring water.

This program is intended for visitors 8 years or older. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Join Seasonal Interpretive Ranger John Wallace for a walking tour of the reconstructed Fort Loudoun. Learn about the fort’s creation, daily life at the fort, and the siege that led to its abandonment to reveal the fort’s role in the French and Indian War.

✨SUMMER PROGRAMS ARE BACK✨

Starting tomorrow May 27th Fort Loudoun's summer programs are coming back STRONG with TWO Fort Tours. One at 9:00 AM followed by another at 3:00 PM. These programs are free for the public to attend! Due to construction meet SIR John Wallace in our picnic area.

‼️We still have five spots available for Jr. Ranger Camp!!‼️
Who: Children Ages 8-11
When: July 13-17, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Cost: $50
During this weeklong camp children learn about what life was like during the French and Indian War by practicing marching and musketry, defending the area from French attacks, learning surgical procedures in the infirmary, various trades and professions, trading deer skins for goods, and much, much more.

🚧 Construction Update 🚧

Our main parking lot and visitor center pathway is currently being torn up as construction continues around the park. During this time, access to the Visitor Center will be slightly different.

To access the Visitor Center, please WALK the gravel pathway that leads toward the fort. At the split in the pathway, continue toward the Visitor Center and enter through the back entrance.

If you have any questions, please call the park Visitor Center.

Starting next week, we will also have a mobile park gift shop and information area stationed around the park to help visitors during construction. Its location and times will be posted on Facebook.

We will make another post once the main entrance is reopened. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we work to improve the park! 🌿

June is going to be full of fun, sunshine, AND community! During the month of June, our park will be working to help local families in need.

Did you know that many children in Tennessee face food insecurity during the summer months when school meals and snacks are no longer available? According to the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth, thousands of families across our state struggle to afford basic needs like food, housing, and utilities. During the summer, these struggles can be especially hard.

That’s why we’re partnering to support the Good Shepherd Center, a local nonprofit that has served Monroe County families since 1986. Their mission is to provide food, clothing, emergency assistance, and hope to neighbors facing hard times while encouraging self-sufficiency and dignity for every person they serve.

🥫 How to Help: A food donation drop-off box will be available at the park. Exact location will be announced in June!

Every can, box, and bag donated can help feed a child, support a family, and strengthen our community. Over the next couple weeks find some time to check the cans in your house or start picking out some of your personal favorites to drop off for us at kickoff (June 1st)! We are deeply grateful to the East Tennessee Historical Society for their continued work to preserve and share the history of East Tennessee. It was an honor to attend their award ceremony this past week and celebrate the organizations and individuals that work hard to keep history alive.

We are especially grateful to have received an Award for Excellence in Teaching. At Fort Loudoun, we strive to preserve local history and create meaningful educational opportunities for people of all ages to learn about the history of our area.

Whether you're exploring the fort for the first time or are a repeat visitor to our park, we're grateful to be able to serve you and help protect history through you!
