Robyn Lester - Sisterly Travel & Events

Robyn Lester - Sisterly Travel & Events I am a travel enthusiast who can help pack your next vacation full of memories! I love to travel and I love Disney!

My husband and I have deepened our love for Disney vacations and learning about the Disney Corporation over the years. We have visited Walt Disney World countless times with our children and stayed at many of the different resorts. We also enjoy cruises, having traveled with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and on the Disney Dream. I have traveled internationally to Canada, Mexico, Italy, Switzerland and

Uganda, Africa. In 2016, I hiked the Grand Canyon from North Rim to South Rim and also spent a week in Hawaii. My bucket list travel wish would be to take a European river cruise. I give you my travel resume as an example of my experience and desire for travel. Whether it be to Disney World, Disneyland or anywhere in between, I can make your next trip a truly memorable experience! Let me create a MAGICAL vacation for you one WISH at a time!

It’s Global Travel Advisor Day! Let’s talk about why working with a travel advisor makes all the difference.

We’re more than just planners, we’re your advocate, your researcher, and your go-to when things change.

From saving you hours of time to helping you find the right resort (not just the most popular one), to being a real human you can call if something goes wrong, travel advisors bring value, peace of mind, and personal touch to every trip.

Where are you traveling this year(or wishing you were)? Drop a comment and let me know!

Travel isn’t just something we enjoy, it really plays a big role in keeping our communities strong, supporting jobs, and bringing people together across the country.

Every year, National Travel and Tourism Week is a chance to recognize how important travel is to our everyday lives. It highlights the impact this industry has on creating jobs, boosting local businesses, and enhancing the way we live and connect with one another.

From restaurants and small shops to larger industries like technology and agriculture, travel touches so many parts of our economy and helps keep things moving in a big way.

Travel truly connects us in ways nothing else can. I’m so excited to celebrate all week long, stay tuned! ✈️🌎

10 Common Disney Planning Mistakes

Mistake #2
Not Budgeting Time

You planned 5 must-do attractions. You didn't plan for the 20-minute monorail ride, the 45-minute wait, or the fact that Magic Kingdom closes at 9 PM on Tuesdays.

Families who don't account for logistics end up exhausted, frustrated, and missing things on their list. You can't "fit in" Space Mountain if you don't budget the travel time to get there. Time is your most valuable commodity at Disney, and it's the easiest to waste.

Learn this mistake + 8 others that derail family trips. Join my group for the complete breakdown + my insider timing strategy that maximizes every hour. 👇

10 Common Disney Planning Mistakes
Mistake #1

Too many families choose their Disney resort based on beautiful photos, recommendations from friends or what they see in commercials without realizing that location, amenities, and cost all come with trade-offs. That low-priced resort might mean an extra hour of travel time each day, or missing out on resort perks that matter most to your family.

The right resort isn't the prettiest one, or the one your boss went to, it's the one that matches your priorities. Are you park-hopping daily? You need proximity. Traveling with toddlers? Pool time and room space matter more. Celebrating an anniversary? Splurge on the romance and service.

Traveling Internationally?

Traveling Internationally?

Hoping to travel more in 2026? Here are our top tips!

1️⃣ – Make sure your passport is travel-ready. Many countries require at least six months validity remaining on your passport to enter. If you need to renew, you may be eligible to do it online! Learn more at travel.state.gov/renewonline.

2️⃣ – Be aware of local laws. Travelers are subject to local laws. Just because something is legal in the United States, does not mean it’s legal where you are traveling. Be especially careful not to pack any prohibited items or banned medications for your destination. Review the State Department’s specific information for your destination at travel.state.gov/destination before traveling.

3️⃣ – Review the current Travel Advisory. The State Department issues a Travel Advisory for all destinations based on risks, ranging from Level 1 (Exercise Normal Precautions) to Level 4 (Do Not Travel). Read the advisory level and info for your destination at travel.state.gov/destination.

4️⃣ – Sign up for STEP. The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service for U.S. citizens to receive safety updates and alerts from the local U.S. embassy while abroad. It also makes it easier for the Embassy to contact you in an emergency. Sign up at step.state.gov

5️⃣ – Check your health insurance. Many U.S. health insurance plans (including Medicare) do not cover medical costs outside the United States. Medical evacuation by air ambulance can cost up to $200,000 depending on where you are and your health condition. Consider buying travel insurance that includes medical evacuation coverage.

Here’s the story behind the name, Sisterly Travel & Events.

For years, my younger sister, Laura, and I talked about opening a business together. She’s an event planner, and I’m a travel planner — not the same field, but close enough that our work naturally overlaps.

Over time, the timing just never lined up for both of us. About a year ago, she was actually ready to move forward. She even came up with the name and the initial idea, but the timing wasn’t right for me in the travel industry. She eventually accepted a wonderful job as an event planner with the NC Trucking Association.

This past summer, things finally opened up for me — but by then, she was loving her new role, so it wasn’t the right moment for her to make a change.

That’s when I approached her with a new idea: I would open the business using the name she created and launch the travel side now, with the hope (and no pressure at all!) that one day she’ll join me to build the events side.

And just like that, Sisterly Travel & Events, LLC was born.
