I saw the last post about SRF cutting the phone and internet lines, and doing nothing about it. I could have commented also, but I thought a separate post was needed for this problem.
Several of us over here on Pottawatomie Trail are experiencing "flickering lights" in our homes since SURF came through our street. I called NIPSCO today, 1-800-464-7726, to let them know on a "heads up basis", to which they were very appreciative of a phone call. They asked me if it was happening right now, while we were on the phone, and it did. NIPSCO started a ticket on this for an inspection to be done on my power, which all my utilities are bored underground. They said it did not matter whether it's bored or overhead, and could it be possible that a tree might be rubbing a power line, but that is only a guess right now.
NIPSCO will look into any complaint of "flickering lights", and that this would be treated as an emergency, meaning they will have a crew out immediately instead of in a couple days. They advised me for anyone to call 24hours a day, seven days a week, and when asked if this is an emergency, to reply YES. That way you won't have to listen to a robot throwing all the bs options at you.
So, if it's happening on our street, then it's probably happening all over the place, lake wide. CALL NIPSCO, 1-800-464-7726 and let them know. They need to hear from anyone who has experienced this, immediately. They went further to let me know about spreading the word, and to call immediately when your lights flicker. Remember, NIPSCO is handling this as an EMERGENCY, and when you are asked if this is an emergency, reply YES.
