ergy shipping it around the globe. Tree-Hugger Floors travel less than 1/2 mile to go from a standing tree to a supply of high quality tongue & groove wood flooring. We produce the flooring and install. By utilizing the many species that occur naturally in the forest and only taking 1 tree per acre per year, we maintain a healthy habitat for our trees, the wildlife, neighbors and ourselves.

While our solar kiln is big and was a beast to construct, here are plans for one that looks much easier and less expensive. It won't handle the same amount of wood and doesn't have a couple features ours has but it looks like a great project that could really payoff in the long run if you've got boards to dry.

149 degrees in our solar kiln!! Whooweee, that's freaking hot! That's how we dry our lumber to 6-8% using only the power of the sun.
