Celebrating Women's History Month: Luella Bates began working as a test driver for the Four Wheel Drive (FWD) Auto Company during World War I. In 1920, Luella became the first woman truck driver to receive a commercial license in the state of New York. Later that same year, she completed three transcontinental trips behind the wheel of a FWD truck.
