✈️ TIP TUESDAY: The airport mistake that can cost you your vacation.

One of the biggest mistakes travelers make? Not checking their travel documents until the last minute. 😬

Before you head to the airport, double-check:

✈️ Your name on your ticket matches your ID/passport
🪪 Your ID meets the requirements for your trip
🌎 Your passport isn’t expired — and has enough validity remaining for your destination
📄 You have any required visas or entry documents
⏰ You know your airline’s check-in and baggage cutoff times

Finding out something is wrong at the airport can mean missed flights, expensive rebooking fees, or—in some cases—not going on the trip at all.

My advice? Check your documents when you BOOK the trip, not when you PACK for it.

✈️ Tell me about the vacation that changed your family forever. ❤️

Not necessarily the fanciest trip.
Not the most expensive.
Not even the one that went perfectly.

I mean the trip you still talk about.

The one where the kids saw the ocean for the first time. 🌊
The one where everyone laughed until they cried.
The road trip where everything went wrong—but somehow those are the stories you tell the most. 😂
The trip with someone you’d give anything to travel with one more time.

Those are the trips I love.

🌴 BIG NEWS for travelers heading to Mexico! 🌊

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know one of the biggest concerns clients have when booking the Riviera Maya is sargassum.

Mexico has just announced a $115 million national sargassum mitigation plan to help protect some of its most popular beach destinations, including Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Tulum, and Mahahual.

The new initiative includes:
✅ More sargassum collection vessels to intercept seaweed before it reaches the beach
✅ Additional offshore containment barriers
✅ Improved beach cleanup efforts using best practices that help protect the shoreline and reduce sand loss

While this won’t eliminate sargassum completely (it’s a naturally occurring seaweed that varies by season and weather), it’s one of the largest investments Mexico has made to improve the beach experience for visitors. Officials are also exploring ways to repurpose collected sargassum into products like biofuels, fertilizers, and bioplastics.
