Over 100,000 CDL drivers could lose their licenses under a new federal rule that restricts foreign drivers without valid employment-based visas or U.S. citizenship from getting or renewing their CDL.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the goal is to reduce unqualified drivers and improve road safety.
