Share the Road is a highway safety program of the American Trucking Associations (ATA).

For the past 20 years, the Share the Road program has been teaching the public how to share the road with large trucks. Million-mile accident free professional truck drivers deliver specific life-saving safety tips to the public, the media, and our public officials through television, radio, the web and in print. News conferences are held where cars and trucks are set up in simulated highway lanes

that show the common ways in which accidents happen out on the road. The program’s goal is to reach as many people as possible and change driving behavior so that we can save lives.

Professional drivers Dean and Dave had a great time at the YOVASO Summer Leadership Retreat in Harrisonburg, where they partnered with the Virginia Trucking Association to educate high school students about the importance of safely sharing the road with large commercial vehicles.

Through conversations and STR demonstrations, they helped reinforce safe driving habits and raised awareness about how everyone can play a role in making our roads safer.

Last week, professional drivers Ina and Rhonda traveled across Montana, visiting four high schools and engaging with more than 300 students and community members about the importance of safely sharing the road with commercial vehicles.

Professional truck drivers Bernie and Rich, who bring more than 4.5 million safe driving miles and 60 years of experience, were proud to support the New Jersey Truck Driving Championships. While competitors demonstrated their commitment to safety behind the wheel, Bernie and Rich used the Share the Road truck to provide attendees, including families and loved ones, with demonstrations and tips on how we can all work together to safely maneuver around commercial vehicles on our nation’s roadways.

Earlier this week, professional drivers Terry and Tony had a fantastic experience at the Traffic Adjudication Lab in Melbourne, FL. This educational program brings together Florida judges and traffic hearing officers who oversee traffic violation cases.

We are always proud to represent our industry, build meaningful connections with those involved in traffic enforcement, and discuss how both the public and CDL holders can work together to keep our roadways safe.

Yesterday, professional drivers Bernie Wanyo and Bob Bramwell brought our Share the Road truck to the U.S. DOT building for Take Your Kid to Work Day, in partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Throughout the day, they welcomed nearly 700 kids into the truck and gave hands-on tours, helping them understand how to safely share the road with large vehicles.

We’re incredibly grateful to FMCSA for the invitation and support in making this event possible. Teaching the next generation about safe driving around trucks is a mission we’re proud to be part of.
