CZ’s RV Adventures/Florida Living It wouldn’t be an adventure if you didn’t have stories to tell.

We are getting settled in. Love our place down here. Meeting the neighbors. Everyone is very friendly. Our section (fruit) is very quiet. Our new mattress was delivered yesterday. It’s a bit higher than I thought it would be, but it’s very comfortable. Waiting for our pod to arrive so we can have more of our stuff to make it more our own.

Headed back to Florida. Second day on the road. Taking our time to get there. Great weather so far. Roads are pretty good since we have been out of Illinois. Excited to spend time in the new place and put in some of our own touches.

Exciting week coming up. Monday we will do last minute things getting ready for the closing on Tuesday. We have our final walkthrough Tuesday morning and then the closing at 10. Once we stop by the admin office and get all official in the community and the water changed to our name, the house is ours 🎉🎉. Wednesday we will start getting everything ready to bring the ”roadhouse” home starting Thursday morning. We should be home by the weekend. We are going to see how the weather goes and how long BZ wants to drive, so I’m not sure when it will be. I’m sure the cats will be very excited to be home. I will be, too, to see family and friends that I’m missing. It’s going to be hard to leave a new house and the view of the water and beautiful weather but we plan to come back in a few weeks (don’t tell the cats) in the SUV or truck so we (I) have something to drive besides the bike. We’ve been very lucky with the weather with our not well thought out plan to only have a bike to ride everywhere.
I’ll keep you all updated as the week goes on.

We have kind of settled in this week. Just taking it easy and enjoying Florida. Had a rocket launch again this week that was awesome. Today we rode with the HOG club on a lunch ride to St. Cloud. It was a little chilly but a beautiful day. I never imagined seeing palm trees and cattle in the same pasture but now I can say I have. Still haven’t seen any alligators except for the ones in front of Bass Pro. In Illinois we have fish in the pond in front of Bass Pro so it makes sense in Florida there are alligators. 🐊🐊☀️☀️🏍️🏍️

The new house we picked out passed inspection, so we will be official snowbirds owning property in Florida. We close on the house on March 28th.
Otherwise, we have been doing some riding and enjoying the new scenery. The cats are finally settling in, although Ivy is still finding new places to hide.

Here are the pics I promised days ago 🙈. BZ getting the bike secure on the trailer. Everything ready to go. Cats weren’t too hard to wrangle into carriers to leave. First day we stopped in Paducah, which was definitely far enough in the 35 mph winds. Cats wanted out of the carriers and then immediately climbed back in or hid under the pillows on the bed.
Day two we made it to Tallahassee. Shadow started to not mind the ride too much but the girls were still hiding.
Day three we made it to Camelot RV Park which will be home sweet home through March. Nice to be able to see the water and palm trees from the RV. Shadow decided he preferred to be on the dash and wanted to help navigate from there. Girls still hiding but Zoey finally came out a couple hours after we were all set up. We had a nice peaceful dinner prepared by Cher at Paul and Cher’s house and Jerry joined us.
Day four we had the inspection on the house we had an offer on. The inspection report came back with a LOT of concerns so we cancelled the offer on that house. BZ went for a ride with Jerry and I had a little peace and quiet. Ivy finally decided it was safe to come out but it was at 3:30 am and she whined and meowed for over an hour. We were nearly down to two cats 🤪
Day five we ran a couple errands in the morning and then Paul and Cher took us for a tour. We went to the ocean where I collected a few shells and had my toes in the sand. The water was a bit chilly but it has been unseasonably HOT down here. We had lunch at Squidlips.
Today we went and saw some more houses. Found a new one we really like. Hopefully we can get a good inspection report this time. Had dinner with the Florida group at Vic’s Italian followed by ice cream of course at Pop’s ice cream. It is the Uncle Bob’s kind of homemade ice cream.
We are all starting to figure out how to live together in the tiny house. BZ has been awesome and been my rock through all the ups and downs (and side to side) this week.
Every day on the trip down here we saw a giant cross reminding us to have faith and trust the One truly in control.

Spent last night at Cracker Barrel. Trying to sleep with three unhappy, out of their element cats was not fun. We are going to see how far we can get today. In Tennessee now but are at a very slow moving construction area and reported sink hole ahead. Hopefully we start moving a little faster.

Today we started our RV adventure to Florida. I’ll share pics tomorrow of our travels. It was a long day with the wind and rain. With our late start we still are six hours closer to Florida. We decided to just park at Cracker Barrel and call it a night. Ordered food and brought it back so we can hopefully get all three cats to come out of hiding. It’s really quiet and close quarters since we can’t open the slides or run the generator so BZ has TV. None of the outlets work without the generator on so he is looking forward to a night of me snoring without my CPAP machine. 💤💤. Should be an interesting evening but we are on schedule to be there Wednesday between 1 and 4.

It’s nearly ready to go and starting to look like home. Tomorrow while BZ is at the doctor I’ll get the cold stuff in the refrigerator and last minute stuff all situated and try to have the cats corralled to put in the carriers to put in the RV. I have the carriers out on the floor and two of them have been napping in them. Hoping that’s a good sign. 🤞things go well getting the trailer and bike hooked up and getting on the road.

Today BZ moved the RV to the house, which made getting everything moved in much easier. I’d say we are at least 85% ready to go. The guy that was packed and ready to go hours before our flight last week hasn’t moved one piece of clothing into the RV. I know it’s supposed to be warm down there but we are going to Florida not the n**e beach in Indiana 😂🙈

The weather is looking interesting for Monday but hopefully we will leave late enough in the morning to be behind the storms.

BZ did a great job backing into the driveway, but did learn an important reminder about making sure all the storage compartments are locked before driving. Also found out I am not tall enough to adjust the outside mirrors 😂😂

To give everyone an update, it has been a crazy couple of weeks. Last week from the 15th to the 18th we made a quick trip to Florida to look at houses with a Realtor to get an idea what is available and to narrow down what area we wanted to check out further when we go down again in the RV in March. That was the plan.

BZ enjoyed having seafood at every meal possible. I enjoyed being able to eat outside with no bugs overlooking the water. The pelicans are fun to watch as they dive headfirst into the water to fish. Had a really great time spending what time we could with our "Florida friends" and looking forward to being back with them next week.

The Lord works in mysterious ways, and with the help and guidance of good friends, and everything falling into place divinely, we found the perfect place for us. We put in our offer on Saturday after we returned home and the offer was accepted with nearly complete furnishings. We will get to do the closing while we are there and maybe even spend a few nights in the new house.

This week has been spent trying to get everything done that would need to be done for the next month plus get the RV ready for us to leave on Monday. Then we should really have some stories -- I mean, everything is going to be smooth driving. How hard can it be to remember absolutely everything we need to have with us when we've never done this before? We've only driven the RV for 60 miles or so, so 1900 should be no big deal :) Catching, crating, and traveling with three cats should be a breeze. I've got to stay positive at this point.

BZ plans to bring the RV to the house this weekend to make it easier to add things as we think of them and really be ready to go Monday morning.

Ready for warm weather with everything green and blooming. I'll try to update everyone as we get on the road.

With BZ’s help I made the bed. I thought I should post proof since this may be the last time anyone sees it made once we sleep in it. 🙈. I thought it was annoying to change the sheets with the “help” of the cats but that was just years of preparation to make an RV bed. There has to be an easier way that I’m definitely checking out before we head out on the road. I also had to call RV for dummies (the service dept) to remind me how to start the generator so I could open the slide to make the bed. Better to learn that lesson now. I’m glad I couldn’t see their faces when I made the call.
Tomorrow we fly down to spend a couple days looking at houses. It’s getting very real now.
