We finished our Washington trip with a couple horses and some very odd looking minis 🤣 Goats are such a hoot. Now we’re home for today then going to New Jersey tomorrow! We do have spots open both ways, one horse coming back to NY. After that we have a break before going to Michigan at the end of the month 🥴 I’ll be providing more information on that later today! For the moment I’m getting some much needed rest. Another big trip, another success. 😏

I missed the exciting parts of this when she was bucking and kicking having a blast this morning 😂 The owner and I agreed a night in a paddock would be good for her after being on the road since Monday. I picked her up at Virginia Beach, VA and she’s on her way to Washington state. It’s been a very long trip but she’s clearly in good spirits! With a lay over each night and breaks every 3 to 4 hours each day, she’s doing well. This was her last lay over. She’ll be at her new home in Washington today.

Good morning from WI! Yesterday we were in Indiana when a derecho hit. Thankfully we were already stopped at a gas station and were safe through the storm. Now that was scary 😅 The radar was showing just a regular storm till we finally got up to the area. Then the critical alert came over my phone as I was getting diesel. That’s when it hit! Found out this morning they confirmed it was a derecho and that winds had gusted up to 100 mph. Unfortunately you can’t always predict what the weather is going to do no matter what source you use. Yesterday was one of those days. But thankfully we are all safe.

Today it’s off to ND! Let’s see what today’s weather brings 🙃

Now this is a horse! Pictures don’t do him justice. I hauled him about 80 miles to his new home today. He had plenty of room in the head to head. Guys like this are why I got such a tall trailer to begin with! ❤️ Love the big guys. For size reference, I’m 5’4”. Pictures don’t do him justice. He was easily 19 hands!

This is a very serious situation. Please make sure that, if your horse is coming out of a screw worm infestation zone, you have the paperwork necessary to travel stating that your horse is safe from screw worm.

Livestock Hauler Arrested for Bypassing Florida Ag Inspection

• Roger Rodriguez Vega was arrested by the Florida’s Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) on charges including 24 counts of Unlawful Entry of Animals into the State and one count of Resisting an Officer Without Violence after attempting to bring 24 sheep and goats from Texas into Florida without the required Screwworm documentation.

• Vega was initially denied entry at the Pensacola Agricultural Inspection Station because he could not produce a valid Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, prompting an OALE alert due to the animals originating from a Screwworm-infested zone.

• Officials later located Vega, who had re-entered Florida through Georgia, bypassing the inspection station, and he was subsequently booked into the Nassau County Jail, with the trailer of animals being escorted out of the state, as Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson emphasized the state's commitment to protecting its agricultural industry and holding violators accountable.

Lay overs are done at horse motels where your horse will be safe to rest comfortably in stalls at a barn between travel times.
