In our April edition of local legends, Phil Yoder is the lead player, and the co-star is Lee Fisher!! 👏

What sort of legendary behavior did they display?

Was it sheer bravery, was it ingenuity, or was it being dealt a bad hand and yet turning it into a winner? 🤔

It was all of the above. You see, they were taking a massive load from the northern part of the nation to the far south, and were routed in a zigzag fashion to avoid narrow spots, low bridges, light bridges, and sharp turns. It isn’t easy traveling over width, over length, over height, and over weight.

They were on a 4 lane winding through the mountains when Lee tapped a bridge with his high pole. Upon measuring, it was determined that the person doing the route survey had made a mistake and the state had issued a permit they shouldn’t have. 😬

But blaming doesn’t lift bridges and it doesn’t shrink loads.

So now what? The bridge was higher on the north bound side, so they backed up 2 miles to a crossover that they could wiggle through, shut down the north bound lanes, and eased south on the north side. They slid under the bridge and wiggled through another crossover.

They rolled in at the destination MB style - on time and in perfect condition. (The load, that is. Phil and Lee both had a few more grey hairs. 👀😉)

Hats off to them for getting it done safely and in style. Men like this are what makes America great! 🫡 🇺🇸

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Brett. He has an opportunity to work with family, and family always comes first.

We've loved having him on board these past few years. Brett's a talented operator and a true professional - and did we mention he's got a great eye for photography? 👀🤩

Stop by anytime, Brett.

Wishing you all the best and Godspeed on your next adventure! 🫡

In today’s search for legends, we discovered some remarkable behavior.

One evening Matt needed to switch trucks with a driver, then take a load to the port in Newark. The truck didn’t get back until around 9 pm, and he needed to take it 1.5 hours to switch it out. The trailer needed to be reconfigured too, and the extra parts hauled back. Matt suddenly realized that he’ll barely be able to get to Newark by morning, and promptness is key when dealing with these large union places.

As he was loading equipment to reconfigure the trailer, several trucks pulled in the yard. Matt casually asked (with crossed fingers) one of the drivers what he has planned for tomorrow. The driver grinned and asked, what do you have in mind? Matt said, “Well, there’s this load that needs to go to the port…”

He cheerfully agreed to take it, which meant leaving pretty directly again when he thought he was done for the day.

That my friends, is legendary behavior! To not only agree to work, but to do it willingly, especially when you thought you were done for the day.

Attitudes like this are the MB difference. It keeps customers returning because good ain’t easy, and easy ain’t good.

Who is this legend? Oh yes, thanks for asking! None other than the one and only…. MERLYN HOSTETLER!!!

Thank you, sir! We appreciate you!! 🫡

Sam Yoder is being hailed as a hero after a routine traffic stop turned into a masterclass in calm and knowledgeable professionalism.

As he was leaving the Petro in Scranton, Sam was pulled over by a county mountie who informed him that he was being ticketed for using his Jake Brakes. Sam's initial response was one of puzzlement, asking if the officer was simply admiring the sound of his engine. The officer clarified that Jake Brakes were prohibited and a ticket would be issued.

However, Sam knew his rights and wasn't intimidated. With a relaxed smile, he explained that not only did the prohibition not apply to him, he was required by law to use it. He cited his oversize permit (condition code 2080: BRAKE RETARDER REQUIRED- SEE REGULATION 179.10(20)). The officer was taken aback, reading the permit slowly and squinting in surprise before finally conceding, "First time I ever heard of that... I guess you can go."

Kudos to Sam for handling the situation with ease and expertise, proving that knowledge and calm can be just as powerful as any ticket.

Well done, Sam! 🫡
