These little birds have learning nothing over the years. Please be kind and keep your hangar doors closed. If they beome trapped, try closing our door most of the way and place a brilliant red object at the bottom to lure them back to their freedom.

Please help these beautiful bird-brains survive by keeping your hangar doors closed as much as possible. There is an abundance of them right now, and when they find their way into your hangar, they are trapped because they only know how to go up to get out. Thanking you on behalf of the birds. 😊

Two geese were sitting in the middle of the runway, not the least intimidated by the approaching airplane. Eventually they wandered to the grass taxiway just far enough and never moved as I took off. Just another day at The Ranch. 😁

The night red warning lights for the 1200 foot tower 2 miles northwest of XA86 (FAA ID 1230367) have been repaired. Unfortunately, there are no white LED flashers during daylight and as you can see in this picture and blowup, the tower is difficult to see. Beware when flying below 2400 MSL.

Be advised, the 1200 foot tower 2 miles northwest is not fully lit. Only half of its red lights are currently working, with its uppermost lights inoperative. Use extreme caution if flying at night.

Yes, the Brazos River is high due to Possum Kingdom dam release, but Driftwood Ranch is fine thanks to the ranch to the north being lower. We've seen it much higher than this before. These photos are from the DWR boat ramp.

Yes, we're well on our way to becoming a tropical rain forest. In spite of all the rain, there is no flooding at the Ranch because the horse ranch to the north is lower. Boaters Beware!! Major debris fields and hidden stumps.

Yes, the river is high, but still far from overflowing. Overflows travel north away from Driftwood Ranch as the terrain there is lower.

A calm day allowed for some flood surveying. All is good at The Ranch. Lots of debris in the water, but saw a beautiful ending to the day.

Sunsets are beautiful here, but they also bring out the deer. Use extreme caution when taking off or landing at dawn, dusk and night.
