Our group had the opportunity to visit a Boiler Room while onboard on an Ohio River Cruise awhile back!
The boilers, which were converted from coal to diesel in the 1950s, can hold up to around 6,500 gallons of water, which is heated up to create the steam that powers the engines and other steam equipment onboard. The fireman who keeps an eye on the boilers to make sure they maintain the proper steam pressure were happy to answer any questions we had thr night we were onboard for a cruise.

We learn so much on trips.

It it is exciting to see what Bridget has on the drawing board for 2028!
