Wondering if a 10x10 storage unit is right for you?

A 10x10 unit is about half the size of a one-car garage and offers 100 square feet of storage space. It's often a great option for storing the contents of a one- to two-bedroom apartment.

Here's an example of what you can typically fit inside:

- A king-size bedroom set
- A couch and coffee table
- A TV and TV stand
- A large appliance like a washer, dryer, or refrigerator
- Plenty of boxes and other household items

If you're preparing for a move or need temporary storage for a one or two-bedroom apartment, a 10x10 unit is often a great choice.

Are you comparing a 5x10 and a 10x5 storage unit? There are a few important differences to understand before you book.

Both units offer 50 square feet of storage space, but their layouts are completely different.

A 5x10 unit is narrow and deep, meaning everything goes in single file through a smaller door. This layout works well for longer items like bikes, rolled rugs, kayaks, and paddleboards.

A 10x5 is wide and shallow, giving you easier access to larger furniture pieces such as couches, TV stands, dressers, and bed frames. The wider opening also makes loading and unloading more convenient with plenty of room to maneuver at the door.

Depending on what you're storing, one layout may be a much better fit than the other, even though both offer the same amount of storage space.

Considering a 10x5 storage unit, but not sure how much it fits? Here are a few examples to show what the space can hold.

A 10x5 unit gives you the same amount of space as a 5x10 (50 sq. ft.), but the layout is much different. This one is wide and shallow (10 ft wide, 5 ft deep, 8 ft tall). You are able to easily fit wide items in this unit because there is plenty of room to maneuver at the door. With smart packing, you can comfortably store items such as: A mattress set, a TV, and several moving boxes. And because a 10x5 is more shallow than most units, everything stays easily accessible without having to dig through layers of stuff.

The key to making the most of this unit is placing larger furniture pieces in first along the back wall and smaller items in front.

So if you are looking for a place to store your stuff, a 10x5 storage unit could be the perfect fit.

Looking to book a 5x10 storage unit but not sure what you can fit inside? Here are a few examples to help you visualize the space.

A 5x10 unit is about the size of a large walk-in closet (5 feet wide, 10 feet deep, and 8 feet tall). With smart packing, you can comfortably store items such as: A queen size mattress and bed frame, a dresser, a small couch, a TV and stand, a bicycle, and several moving boxes.

If you are only storing moving boxes you can fit up to 20-25 boxes stacked to the ceiling.

And because we know you might be wondering, yes, a king size bed does fit in a 5x10 storage unit when stored on its side.

So if you are looking for a place to store your stuff, a 5x10 storage unit could be the perfect fit.
