Today we remember those who paid the ultimate price of freedom, and the cost to keep this country that way.

Alright the final announcement is rather special to us. We are slowly trying to acquire pieces that pertain to the Great Northern railway that were local or at least represent it. Last year we acquired both the floor scale and desk scale that were from the Rock Island depot. However, 2 weeks ago we were made aware of a piece from the Wenatchee station that survived. Last Monday, our volunteers drove to Spokane and picked up the Railway Express Agency safe that was at the Wenatchee depot. It was built in 1892, meaning it was most likely in the original depot at the foot of First Street (north of rail station bar and grill). In 1910 it would have been moved to the large brick station that was just north of Thurston until the mid 1980s. We want to thank the family of George Racus, who locked the building for the last time, for saving the safe and allowing us to acquire it and bring it home.

Alright! First we want to thank everyone who came and participated in our run last Saturday. It was a blast! And just a reminder, those tickets that were handed out at Nick's Bricks are good through the end of the year.

If you didn't make it down on Saturday, don't worry. We are running the next 2 saturdays as well for the Apple Blossom Festival, run time will be 1-5 to accommodate the parades.

We have one more announcement tonight to make as well. Stay tuned!
