Ok folks, this post is semi off topic. Our existence is 2 part, to give train rides/a fun experience to the public, and preserve/talk about history, especially in the PNW. This is on the history part, albeit not railroad related. It's a day late, but bear with us. Many of us, in addition to liking trains, are also baseball fans. And love them or be frustrated with them, the Seattle Mariners have had some great moments in our sports history. I know many of us thought "how will we ever replace Dave Niehaus?" Well, we still had Rick Rizzs. However, as of yesterday, we no longer do. 41 years is a long time to be the voice of the game, and for many of us, that's most of our lives. So, we just want to give our shout out to Rick, fight back emotions, and congratulate him on a well deserved retirement. We will miss you Rick, would love to hear you as a guest announcer from time to time.

P.s. if you're in Wenatchee visiting, we would love and be honored to have you come visit.

Alright folks. Some of you said you would be interested in posts about our equipment and the history/plans for each piece. We will start with our "newest" locomotive. We purchased this one and 2 cars a few years ago from a dealer in Chicago. Beyond that, we have no clue on it's history. It came with a portable loop of track like you would find at a carnival, and from the amount of hours on the reader, the look of the wheels, and the fact that the old engine knocked and seized rather quickly, we figure she's been around. With that said, it is our current restoration project. The goal is to move the engineer back for comfort (like what 2003 is), and convert it from early gas hydraulic to gas/electric, using electric motors to power the wheels-just like the real thing. The other goal, is to repaint it. We may have a soft spot for the Milwaukee because of our steamer, but Great Northern is near and dear, and that's what she and her cars will be repainted to, along with a few new ones we are planning. So, this is the first post on equipment, it's not as "in depth" on the history, because honestly we don't know it. But, it's future looks bright, and will bring some local history back to the rails.

Wow that week just absolutely flew by! Just a reminder that we are running again tomorrow, but we are slowly transitioning into our fall hours. We will be running from 10-2 tomorrow, and look forward to seeing all of you!

Happy Friday everyone! Where has this month gone? We already are at another run day tomorrow, Saturday 8/29, from 9-1. With that said, we apologize for the short notice post, but we were waiting on confirmation of a couple things. So....

First, we ask for your patience. Due to family stuff with several of our volunteers, we have been and are going to be somewhat short staffed for awhile.

Second, we want to give a shout out to one of our shop guys, Brad, for coming down over the last couple weeks and putting in a bunch of hours. At our last run, our fairly reliable, trusty "ferro-equine" 2003 had a failure on the cooling fan. It sucked in the insulation surrounding it, and after repairing that and cleaning up a bunch of wiring, everything runs well!

3rd and finally: we are happy to announce that we finally have more merch! We are offering (initially) a limited run of adult t shirts (S-2XL) and hats with our original "steam engine" logo. We will be getting kids sizes soon too. Adult size shirts are $20, hats are $25. Eventually we will offer other designs as well, so stay tuned! We also would like to thank Bear Signs and Embroidery for fast and efficient service! This is the second local business to work with us on a neat project! Who is next? We will see!

Well folks, it's almost that time again! This Saturday, as long as the smoke doesn't get EXTREMELY bad, we will be running from 9-1 again. We still have snacks and drinks for sale, along with our latest run of magnets being back in stock. We look forward to seeing all of you!

Happy Friday folks!
We have to say, thank you so much to everyone who came out and celebrated Independence day with us. We had an amazing turn out, and it's because of days like that, that we are able to keep moving forward with different projects.

Our next run is tomorrow, July 18 from 9-1. We look forward to seeing you all.

And finally, a little teaser. For those of you inquiring about hats, shirts, merch to celebrate having visited us (including those magnets we had for a little while) well, we hear you and we have things in the works with vendors. So stay tuned on those. And remember, we once again will have water, Prime, popsicles and snacks for sale. It's going to be warm!
