Never Forget. 🇺🇸
Every September 11th, our feeds fill with posts from businesses across the country remembering what happened 25 years ago.
We’ve always struggled a little with making one ourselves.
For our family, September 11th has a very personal meaning. Our father spent weeks at Ground Zero running heavy equipment as part of the rescue and recovery effort. What began as a desperate search for survivors eventually became the heartbreaking work of finding the missing and helping families find some measure of closure. Years later, complications from his time there ultimately contributed to his passing in 2017.
We don’t share that for sympathy, and we certainly don’t share it to advertise our business. In fact, that’s exactly why we’ve been hesitant to make a company post about September 11th.
This day shouldn’t be a marketing opportunity.
It should simply be a day to remember.
Remember the 2,977 people who went to work, boarded an airplane, reported for duty, or started an ordinary Tuesday morning and never came home.
Remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, equipment operators, tradesmen, volunteers and countless others who ran toward something the rest of the world was watching in horror.
Remember the families whose lives changed forever that morning—and the many responders and recovery workers who carried the effects of that day with them for years afterward.
One of our drivers made this picture today, and it felt worth sharing. Not because there’s a Tarantino truck in it, but because the message behind it means something to us.
No advertisement. No sales pitch.
Just remembrance.
