1. Load Securement (FMCSA Required): You need Grade 70 chains (4–8 minimum), ratchet binders, and winch straps. Your working load limit must match the cargo: no exceptions. Professional setups include edge protectors and dunnage (4x4s, 2x4s, and rubber mats) to secure every load properly.
2. Tarps & Protection: If you can’t cover it, you can’t haul it. That means having steel, lumber, smoke, and even coil tarps ready to go, along with plenty of bungee cords and a tarp repair kit to keep things tight.
3. The Standard: Don't just be a driver with a truck. Be a business that's prepared for any broker requirement. When you have the right gear, you’re invisible to the low-paying loads and a priority for the high-paying ones.
