Lately, we’ve heard it a few times…“We’re getting a little too corporate America over here.” And hey, we get it!

Trucking has always been a boots on the ground, get it done kind of industry. The reality is, it’s 2026. We can’t operate like it’s the 90s anymore.

At McRae’s U.S. Mail Service, every one of our 160 tractors and box trucks has inward and outward facing Samsara cameras. Not to watch our drivers. To protect them. Today, when something happens on the road, it’s not about who tells the better story, it's about who has the proof.

That proof can:
• Show our driver was attentive, hands on the wheel
• Confirm safe speeds and proper operation
• Protect against false claims
• Back our drivers when they did everything right

Safety isn’t just something we talk about, it’s a culture here at McRae’s.
We talk about it with our drivers.
We talk about it with our staff.
It’s part of how we operate every single day.
It’s bigger than just our company, it’s become a culture across the USPS network as well.

At the end of the day, our goal is simple: make sure everyone goes home safe to their families.

Call it “corporate” if you want but in today’s world, it’s what protects our drivers, our company, and their livelihoods.

Over the past two weeks, McRae’s U.S. Mail Service wrapped up our Spring Driver Safety Meetings. A lot of miles, a lot of great conversations, and a whole lot of focus on what keeps us moving: SAFETY.

To make sure every driver had the opportunity to attend, we held up to four meetings a day because as we all know, the mail moves 24/7… and so do we.

This year, we got back to the basics (because let’s be honest… the basics are what matter most):
✔️ Workers’ comp awareness
✔️ Getting in and out of the truck safely
✔️ Reinforcing three points of contact
✔️ Liftgate safety—a big one for us with the amount of USPS liftgate work we handle

No flashy topics just the real stuff that keeps our drivers safe day in and day out.

Thank you to our insurance advisors from Vizance for joining us and helping drive these conversations forward.

The biggest shoutout goes to our drivers. You show up, put in the work, and keep safety at the forefront even when the days are long and the weather doesn’t cooperate (hello, Midwest spring) ❄️🌦️🌪️🚛🌬️

Phew… peak season: DONE. 🎄😅🚛

Miles were logged, alarms went off way too early, coffee was consumed in record amounts — and the U.S. Mail kept moving.

Huge THANK YOU to our drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and support teams who powered through long days, tough schedules, and holiday traffic like pros. You showed up, delivered, and made it happen.

To our customers and partners — thank you for trusting us during the busiest time of the year. We’re proud to deliver what matters most, especially when the pressure is on.

Last week we held our annual Fall Safety Meeting at our Milwaukee location, and we were proud to have nearly 100 drivers join us. Our drivers’ commitment to safety on the road sets the standard for our entire operation. Thank you to each of you for showing up, engaging, and keeping safety a top priority every day. Yesterday we completed our spring safety tour. It’s hard to reach every driver as the mail moves 24/7. We hosted 3 meetings yesterday, in hopes of having a time that worked for most of them. Huge thanks to our office members who pulled a 14 hour days to make this happen.

It was a great group of drivers with some good questions. We also take these events as a time for some driver appreciation. We couldn’t do what we do without them. They are the backbone of our business and we appreciate their hard work on the road eveyday! Congrats on another successful tour team. Stay safe out there!!!

We had a jam packed week at McRae's U.S. Mail Service. Huge shout out to our team for everything that was accomplished! 👏🏼

Part of our team was busy in Minnesota and Eau Claire at our spring safety meetings. Thanks to Vizance for attending and keeping our drivers up to speed on important safety topics. I’m always amazed by the amount of dedicated, amazing drivers we have. It’s great to get eveyone together! We appreciate eveyones participation in these meetings. Congrats to our raffle winners- Joe Mack in Eau Claire and Jesse Rieck in Minnesota. 🥳

Back at the office our team was busy hiring drivers, setting up routes, prepping trucks and making sure everything is ready for a few new contracts we are starting. Big thanks to Nick Sobrilsky at Lakeside International Trucks for hooking us up with some box trucks in such short notice! 🚛
