Outside of our Commercial United flights, the Purdue University Airport is also busy with students flying a fleet of 18 Piper Archers. 🛫📚

It takes extensive training to become a professional pilot, and the Piper Archer serves as the primary training aircraft for Purdue’s flight program. These planes are a constant presence at the Amelia Earhart Terminal, helping students log the hours they need for their future careers.

Did you know these aircraft are configured for comfort during longer training flights? With up to 43 inches of legroom and adjustable seating, they provide a strong environment for learning.

It is incredible to see how far aviation technology has come at the Purdue University Airport.

In 1936, the Purdue Research Foundation funded Amelia Earhart’s Lockheed Electra 10E to push the boundaries of flight. Fast forward to today, and modern 50-seat CRJ200 aircraft provide daily commercial service to Chicago, helping ensure our community stays connected to global opportunities.

We are proud to bridge nearly a century of aviation history with every takeoff.
