One thing we've heard from followers, is that they have photos and stories they'd like to share; as this is a page that's not easy to do. So we have created a new Facebook Group where people can join, and post photos, stories, events etc.

Thank you to Samantha Guevremont for submitting this picture, showing the tree down across Old Mill road causing power loss for many of us. Be sure to let NHEC know if you have an outage.

In the very early morning hours of 1/3/2025 a report was made through 911 of an attempted car break-in in the Windsock Village Community in West Ossipee. When the Officer responded, the suspect(s) had left the area and were not located. There was no damage to the vehicle, and there does not appear to have been anything stolen, and it is believed that the assailant(s) were spooked by the car alarm and fled. The homeowner did not see the individuals and was unable to provide any further information. At this time, this is the only incident like this reported to have occurred last night.

It is unfortunately the time of year where reports of thefts from motor vehicles spike, due to a variety of reasons. The Ossipee Police Department encourages everyone to lock unattended vehicles, and to not leave any valuables inside the car in plain view. We also recommend leaving a light on outside your residence after dark, as it can be a deterrent to would-be thieves and trespassers.

Anyone with any information as to this morning's incident are encouraged to contact Officer Carrie Blackwood at 603-539-2011 or through email at [email protected].
