Transmission tower corridors possess abundant underused land across Ontario, especially in Toronto. We should be investing into this land to produce quality park spaces, 20km+ of uninterrupted bike lanes for net-zero commuting and leisure, communal programs like greenhouses and public flexible spaces, and affordable high speed rail infrastructure that can drastically reduce car reliance and make affordable dense housing and reduce cost of living. However, the Ontario government is deciding to pave over the to build more McMansions and spend hundreds of millions of dollars to privatize Ontario Place into an Austrian-owned private spa - is doing great advocacy work with this. We need smart, long term investments in our transportation and housing system that fundamentally addresses the problems that got us here.
